3. WHO ARE WE?
PTSO stands for Parent-Teacher-Student-Organization, which is a volunteer run organization with
a mission to make our school a better place for students to learn and grow.
Beginning this year, membership in PTSO is free to every parent/guardian, staff and middle
school student at Pershing!
• PTSO Board is made up of 8 voting members (7 volunteers + Principal)
• We have 12 current Pershing students between us, ranging from 1st grade to 8th grade!
• PTSO Board meetings are held the last Thursday of the month
• Parent Engagement meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month (open to all members)
• Our meeting agendas, minutes and budget can be found on our website

Spirit Wear Campaign Site
• Pershing PTSO has teamed with Custom Ink
to provide School Spirit wear for the '21/'22
school year.
• Orders will be delivered after September 8th.
• The spirit store will reopen for orders later
this fall.

Opportunities
Once you are registered for the 2021-2022 school year you can
return to the opportunity search page to sign up for additional
opportunities at Pershing School.
When special projects and volunteer opportunities arise, the
school coordinator will send an email to volunteers via the
Volunteer Management system.
In other cases flyers and letters are sent home with the student.
Volunteer opportunities for field trip chaperones, school, and
class events, etc. will be posted throughout the year so check
back often!

• Always check in at the designated computer for
ADDitions Volunteers at the front office when
you arrive and check out when you leave.
• Provide the receptionist your Government ID
• Wear your name tag at all times – it’s a Policy
• Review volunteer orientation information/emails
sent about the volunteer opportunity before
coming to volunteer.
