Adam is the first man created by God and father of all mankind. He is formed in God's image but is not flawless. Adam's greatest weakness is his love for Eve, as he falls for her immediately. Though superior to Eve, Adam is too trusting of her and does not assert his authority. When Eve offers him the forbidden fruit, his fondness for her leads him to choose sharing her fate by eating it as well, going against God's command.
