PaeLife is a European project with 8 partners from 4 countries focused on developing a personal assistant called AALFred to help retired individuals stay active and engaged through technology. The project aims to make human-computer interaction easier for seniors. The 5th project meeting was held in February in Aveiro, Portugal, where partners discussed progress and next steps. AALFred's interface has been redesigned following usability testing. It offers integrated services like contacts, messaging, calendar, news and more through touch, speech, or gesture interaction to be more intuitive for seniors. The project is currently collecting speech data to develop voice interaction in multiple languages.
