Alberto Gonzales was the first Hispanic Attorney General of the United States. He had a humble upbringing and was the first in his family to graduate elementary school. Gonzales worked hard and served his country in the military and government in many roles, including as a corporate lawyer, Texas Supreme Court justice, and Attorney General under President George W. Bush. Though controversial decisions were made, Gonzales helped make the U.S. safer through his work and serves as an inspiration that immigrants can achieve great successes through determination and public service.
