• Pablo Picasso was born on October 25th,
1881 in Malaga, Spain.
• Picasso started painting and drawing at a
very young age.
• Picasso’s father José Ruiz y Blasco was also
a painter himself.

• Picasso had his first exhibit at the age of 13, when
he showed paintings in the back of an old
umbrella store.
• He invented and used new styles, and also all
different types of materials. He even worked with
junk. One of his sculptures was made from two
parts of an old bicycle. It is called bull’s head.

• By the late 1930s, Picasso was the most
famous artist in the world.
• He went on to produce over 20,000 pieces of art
and became very rich and famous.
• He died in 1973, aged 91.
• One of his most famous styles was ‘Cubism’ and
