Past PAARL presidents Prof. Salvacion M. Arlante (1987) and Ms. Fe Angela M. Verzosa (2000 and
2004) were honored as the 2009 PLAI Hall of Fame awardees in a ceremony held at the Heritage Hotel
in Pasay City last November 27 coinciding with the PLAI Congress and General Asembly. In the plaques
given to the awardees it says: “for her invaluable contributions in the field of librarianship; for her
services in various capacities in different library associations; for sharing expertise as a resource
speaker in various seminars and conferences here and abroad, above all for being an epitome for the
library and information science profession.”
Likewise, three more past PAARL presidents were given the PLAI Service Awards. They are Lolita S.
Gonzales(1988) Rodolfo Y. Tarlit (1990), and Zoraida Bartolome(1996) for their exemplary dedication
and commitment to the PLAI through their invaluable services in various capacities for the past years.
