convened by City Commissioner Michelle Spence- 
Jones August 2012 
• Overtown Children and Youth Coalition 
established September 2012 
• Recognized as the planning team to establish a 
Florida Children’s Initiative by the SEOPW CRA 
April 2013 
• Gained Support of the City of Miami 
Commissioner to submit Florida Children’s 
Initiative Application for Overtown October 2013
