Kaskus was founded in 1999, and ever since, has been the largest online community in Indonesia. Many of the old-time users have reluctance to change, and any changes done can shake the ground of the hard-core fans. On the other hand, with the shift in the user behavior and the new wave of competitions, change is inevitable. KASKUS needs to adapt to stay relevant and to continuously deliver great experiences for its users.
In this presentation, the presenters shared two sides of the stories: first is the transformation of the Kaskus products, and second is the transformation of the organization to support this new direction.
An effort to understand the current lanscape of UX industry in Indonesia. We gather the data with online survey through UX communities in Indonesia, in July-August 2017.

First presented at Growth Hacking Asia - Thailand monthly meetup on Sep 25, 2015 at The Hive, Bangkok. The presentation aims to give an idea of what UX really is and how it (should) differ from UI. Not that hiring someone for both UX/UI is wrong but if the concept of UX & UI is clearly understood, it would make more sense to have different people do UX & UI.

User Experience Design - Week 1 (CS4830 at Weber State University). Covers why design matters, the industry, the future of design, and an intro to user interface and user experience.
A word “design” has a very broad meaning and is used in nearly every business or industry. We always have an intuitive awareness of what this is about though. But when we talk about UX and UI design terms, everything is getting a lot more complicated.
What is UI UX design? Is it a generic term? Or UX and UI are two separate concepts? If they are autonomous notions, so why are they always used together? In this article I want to answer all your questions concerning this topic.

Bots- the Next UI Revolution - Adam Stephensen
Bots are the new UI frontier. Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa started the trend, but no-UI is the future of UI. Users are going to expect to be able to have conversations with companies and organisations in the client that they have on hand. Don't believe me? Gartner predicts that by 2020 30% of HTTP requests will be via bots.
In this session, we will explore how the Microsoft Bot Framework makes it easy to build and connect intelligent bots to interact with users and services. Take your existing applications, your FAQ or a great new idea you have and build a bot that will run from your website or from Cortana, Skype, a phone call, text message, Teams, Slack, Facebook Messenger, Skype for Business and more.
If you missed the mobile revolution - why not lead in the bot wars?
UX design is not a step in the process, it's in everything we do. More than anything it is a project philosophy, not just a set of tools, methods and deliverables.
In this presentation we explain how you can differentiate through design, why user experience design matters as well as share our knowledge around all the activities that helps ensure a great UX/UI design.

Agile, lean and responsive are huge new buzzwords. But let’s put these aside for a moment and focus on user perception and UI consistency. During this session we will discuss how trying to reach consistent visual and behavioral patterns, reflecting different mental models and form factors, can "drive you crazy" and how understanding the ways UI consistency affects UX is the key to achieving a well-balanced design language.

How to integrate UX in your Product sprints (Codemotion 2016)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnsXdwg44QM

In this talk, Ardy will discuss the strategy of experiential transformation at KASKUS. With the shift in the user behavior and the new wave of competitions, KASKUS needs to adapt in order to stay relevant and to continuously deliver great experiences for its users.
Transformation does not mean simply changing the look and feel of the UI design. It involves multiple explorations and deeper analysis of trends and statistics. Convincing multiple stakeholders with different point of views, addressing the crucial organizational challenges, and aligning monetization efforts are important aspects in defining the strategy for execution of the “experiential transformation”.

How UX Can Drive the Vision of Future Products - Arttu NiskasaariUXPA International
Our existing B2B product has been developed for 15 years and the need for complete redesign was acknowledged in 2013.
Unusual for the software business in our country and field of business, this project for the brand new solution was driven by UX from the beginning. The main target was to introduce new level of collaboration between all company functions to formulate a shared vision for the future product.
It took us one year to move from user research to prototypes, and in the meantime our UX team grew from two to six persons. Hence, we will also talk a bit about organizing the work of the team to support several products and projects without sacrificing the long-term project.
In this session we will share our experiences and lessons-learned from working our way towards that vision with research based top-down approach.
