2. How are Otolaryngologists Trained?
After completing years and years of undergraduate and post-
graduate (medical school) training, physicians are required to
undergo five years of specialty training to become certified in
otolaryngology.
Some physicians then decide to pursue an additional one or two
year fellowship program to become further certified in a related
sub-specialty area.
These special skills and expertise allow them to examine,
diagnose, and treat diseases of larynx, upper pharynx, sinuses,
oral cavity. Otolaryngologists treat both adults and pediatric
patients.

urgent basis. Some can seem normal, others critical. If one experiences severe pain in nose, ear,
throat, head or neck, it might be crucial to take an appointment.
If there is uneasiness in or around the ear, nose, throat, neck or head area, there might be the need
