Iago, a bitter soldier, conspires to disrupt many lives in Cyprus by spreading rumors of an affair between Othello's wife Desdemona and Cassio. Iago deceives Othello into believing he overheard Cassio speaking of a sexual encounter with Desdemona, though it was not truly her. Enraged, Othello murders Desdemona, only to discover later that Iago fabricated the entire plot out of jealousy for Othello.

Cyprus Hill was busy
celebrating a war
victory, a bitter
soldier was
conspiring a plot that
would disrupt the
lives of many people.
Among those people
he targeted in
particular, was the
honored war General
Othello.

3. Iago decided out of jealousy to
spread the rumor of Othello’s
new wife Desdemona having
an affair with Cassio, Othello’s
best friend.

4. Iago’s plan begins to unfold when he allows Othello to
overhear a conversation between him and Cassio about a
sexual encounter the night before. However, the woman
in Cassio’s story was not Othello’s beloved Desdemona.
They both had been deceived by Iago and fell perfectly
into his scheme. Next on the list was to plant the occular
proof of infidelity.

5. After believing that his
young wife had committed
adultery, Othello
immediately goes to
confront her. His ultimate
decision through rage and
peer pressure is to murder
Desdemona for what she
done.

6. Once everyone learned that Iago
was behind the entire thing and
Desdemona never committed
any act of adultery, he was
quickly ran out of Cyprus.
Unfortunately, Othello had already murdered his
new bride and could never forgive himself for what
he had done.
