Child Orphanage
India has over 29 million orphaned or abandoned children, more than the entire population of Sri Lanka. However, in 2017 only 370,000 of these children were living in child care institutions, despite it being the state's responsibility to care for them until age 21. A government report found that over 27% of children received no aftercare support after leaving state care, and 44% were not consulted about their care plans. The annual government expenditure on child protection for these 30 million children amounts to less than $2 per child per day, which is inadequate to cover their basic needs like food, clothing, education and healthcare. It began in 2007 helping 5 children in Dharan attend school. There are thousands of homeless and orphaned children in Nepal who cannot go to school due to poverty, lack of parental support, and engagement in child labor. The program aims to address this problem by meeting children's basic needs so they can enroll in school instead of engaging in illegal activities or suffering human rights violations. Child rights conference
This document provides information on a research guide about AIDS orphans in India. It discusses the objectives of studying the socioeconomic profiles, issues, rights violations, and living situations of AIDS orphans in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. The researcher aims to understand the challenges AIDS orphans face regarding stigma, education access, living placements, and lack of social support after their parents pass away from HIV/AIDS. Findings from interviewing 84 AIDS orphans reveal issues like emotional trauma, discrimination, lack of access to services, and need for legal support. Recommendations focus on protecting children's rights, education support, community sensitization, and fostering care for AIDS orphans.
The House of Charity
The House of Charity is a nonprofit organization that has been providing aid to underprivileged children for over 20 years. Through various programs, it aims to help children living in poverty by providing essential supplies, medical care, and opportunities to succeed academically and develop skills. Its educational programs include a mobile library and initiatives to provide school supplies, uniforms, books, and winter clothes. It has served over 175,000 children since inception. The organization is committed to helping children reach their full potential regardless of their financial situation.

The Homeless Youth Initiative provides housing and support services to homeless high school students in Fairfax County, Virginia. It offers several housing options, including a group home for girls, host homes with volunteer families, and rental subsidies. Case managers and therapists provide ongoing assistance with needs like healthcare, education, and independent living skills. Since starting in 2009, the program has increased from serving 100 students to over 260, with greatly improved educational outcomes like no dropouts and all graduates pursuing higher education. Securing ongoing funding and expanding services remain priorities.

Combined Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) Vessel List.
The best available, up-to-date information on all fishing and related vessels that appear on the illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing vessel lists published by Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) and related organisations. The aim of the site is to improve the effectiveness of the original IUU lists as a tool for a wide variety of stakeholders to better understand and combat illegal fishing and broader fisheries crime.
To date, the following regional organisations maintain or share lists of vessels that have been found to carry out or support IUU fishing within their own or adjacent convention areas and/or species of competence:
Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)
Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)
General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)
Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC)
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)
Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC)
Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO)
North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC)
North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC)
South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO)
South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO)
Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA)
Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC)
The Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List merges all these sources into one list that provides a single reference point to identify whether a vessel is currently IUU listed. Vessels that have been IUU listed in the past and subsequently delisted (for example because of a change in ownership, or because the vessel is no longer in service) are also retained on the site, so that the site contains a full historic record of IUU listed fishing vessels.
Unlike the IUU lists published on individual RFMO websites, which may update vessel details infrequently or not at all, the Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List is kept up to date with the best available information regarding changes to vessel identity, flag state, ownership, location, and operations.

Orphans The Forgotten Children
- 2. Such young adults are the state’s responsibility until they turn 21. This is a reassuring policy, but only in name. More than a 27 per cent had not received any form of aftercare and 44 per cent were not consulted in their care and rehabilitation planning, in September 2018 report of the Jena Committee. It found that many government officials as well as children were unaware of their aftercare being mandated by law

- 5. Orphans, 70% of whom would belong to SC / ST or OBC categories, going by the proportion for the population, are not eligible for government scholarships. By the time they reach the age of 18, they have to pretty much fend for themselves. Orphans have no reservations to uplift them. Adoption in India is consistently less than 6000 children per year, thus it has failed as a solution
