Third-party testing confirmed the efficacy of OriginOil's CLEAN-FRAC PRIME water treatment system in reducing contaminants in produced water from oil and gas operations. Using electro-flotation, electro-oxidation, and electro-coagulation with minimal chemicals, it removes over 97% of suspended solids, petroleum hydrocarbons, and turbidity to return water to a composition suitable for reuse. Lab tests found the treated water contained very low or undetectable contamination levels.

2.  A round of third-party testing conducted by Zalco
Laboratories has confirmed the efficacy of CLEAN-
FRAC PRIME, a water treatment product developed
by OriginOil. Designed to reduce the level of
contaminants in produced water resulting from oil
and gas operations, the water treatment system uses
OriginOil’s Electro Water Separation (EWS)
technology to return produced water to a
composition ideal for cyclic steam stimulation (CSS)
production operations. Using minimal chemicals, EWS
combines electro-flotation, electro-oxidation, and
electro-coagulation to remove visible contaminants
from wastewater, and its innovative smart control
scheme allows for nearly hands-free operation.

3.  Additionally, PRIME facilitates the removal of
heavy solids with a self-cleaning filter and
includes a back-end polishing system.
Zalco Laboratories drew its data from a month
of demonstrations performed by Bakersfield,
California-based exploration and production
company Vaquero Energy. After carrying out
lab testing, Zalco confirmed that, after
treatment with PRIME, produced water
contains very low or undetectable levels of
contamination. The laboratory confirmed
PRIME’s ability to reduce the total level of
suspended solids by 97 percent.

4.  The product reduced the level of
recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons by
97 percent, and achieved a 99.96
percent reduction in turbidity.
Additionally, PRIME results in substantial
reductions in organic contaminants,
decreasing levels of diesel range and
motor oil range organics by 99 percent
and gasoline range organics by 86
percent.
