Key Responsibilities of
organisation
• Social Responsibilities – It may be defined as the obligations that the organisation
has towards the people and the environment in which the company operates.
• Environmental Responsibilities – It includes waste handling and disposal, pollution
prevention, green concerns.
• Ethics and Business - Organisation’s decision makers should act with equity,
fairness and impartiality, respect the rights of individuals, prevent harm to others,
help those in need and obey law.
• Management Responsibilities: Organisation has responsibility to employees
(recruitment policies, redundancy and retirement policies), customers (dealing
honestly and fairly with customers), suppliers (all suppliers should be treated
fairly), competitors (fair trading) and community (well-being of the community).
• Legal Responsibilities: Health and Safety law
(www.hse.gov.uk/workers/employers.htm), Anti discrimination act: (Disability
discrimination act -1995; Equal pay act-1970; Equality act 2010; Race relations act
1967; Sex discrimination act 1975).
