Objectives of study
• To generate a macro understanding regarding the organization.
• This study analyses the functioning of the various departments in an
organization.
• The study analyses in detail about the functions of different departments
on the basis of SWOT analysis.
• To have the primary awareness regarding vision, mission and policies of
the organization.
• To understand the organizations infrastructure facilities capital
requirements technical knowhow, plant and machinery, needed raw
material etc…
Scope and Significance
• Gain industry exposure and to relate the specified organizations profile
• The study also helped t understand managerial aspects and operational
process, specifically related to the organization.
• The study emphasises on the role of organizational contribution in
terms of business and social connections, evolved through the making
of its products and services.
Industry profile
• The Indian cement industry is the fifth largest in the world after China,
Russia, Japan and USA
• Cement is the most vital binding component in any construction
activity.
• The per capita consumption in India is about 5 tone, which is almost
1/4th of the world average
• The global cement industry is worth about 180 billion dollars. Its total
production is about 2783 million tonnes.
Company Profile
• Established in may 1975 at Nimbahera in the state of Rajasthan.
• Second largest manufacturer of white cement in India with annual
capacity of 600000 tonnes in India.
• J.K. cement was the first company to install a captive power plant in
the year 1987 at Bamania, Rajsthan.
• The company has made its first international foray with the setting up
of green-field dual process white cement-cum-grey cement plant in
free trade zone Fujairah U.A.E.

• It has major operations in Rajasthan and Karnataka only.
• Moreover, the brand awareness pan India is very less when compared to
national players in the country.
Opportunities
• It should expand its operations to other parts of the country.
• Government policies would also help the country.
• It can enter into untapped markets.
Threats
• It would face strong competition from regional player when it tries to enter new
markets.
• Many major cement players are doing aggressive marketing and branding activities that
might impact J.K. Cement operations.
• Increasing cost of operations ad fluctuating construction business scenario
Findings
• The company is providing good working conditions.
• The production department is having all machineries for the efficient
production.
• There is no proper planning and control of the inventory.
• The new workers are provided with less training
Suggestions
• More concentration should be given to the quality of the product.
• Complaints should be rectified in the shortest possible time.
• A finer degree of professionalism should be introduced.
• The company can focus on improving product sales other states as
well
Conclusion
• J.K. Cements is a public limited company with an experience of over
four decades.
• The company is committed to professional Management and decent
living to its employees.
• Mainly five departments in the company and the are PRODUCTION,
HUMAN RESOURCE, FINANCE, MARKETING & MINING
DEPARTMENT .
• J.K. cements Ltd will glorify our nation by conquering global market
by satisfying the needs of the global consumer.
