This document outlines an assignment for a course on effective public communication. Students must complete an individual oral presentation on one of four topics: traditional dwellings, religious buildings, mural paintings, or parks and gardens from around the world. For their chosen topic, students must describe the historical background, structure/layout, ornamentation, materials used, and other relevant information. Presentations should be 10-15 minutes with references cited. Students will be evaluated on understanding the brief, content, organization, use of references, and grammar. Presentations are to be submitted digitally by the assigned dates.

student’s ability to research information and present an effective presentation of his/her
research. In addition, being a group assignment, each student will experience
cooperating and collaborating with other peers as a team with a common goal.

You are required to choose ONE topic of your choice and describe all the five aspects
mentioned above.
1. This is an individual presentation.
2. You must research the topic that you choose and prepare an oral presentation
for about 10 – 15 minutes.
3. You are required to provide detailed referencing and citation for this submission.
4. You must submit the following on 20 January 2016 (Wednesday class) / 21
January 2016 (Thursday class).
i. A softcopy and hardcopy of your PowerPoint presentation (including
images) and any audio-visual material that you will be using for your
presentation.
ii. The PowerPoint presentation must be clearly labelled with the name
of the assignment and names of group members.
