Dulles Corridor Air Rights Study InvestigationFairfax County
The document summarizes a study by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) investigating the feasibility of developing air rights over the Dulles Toll Road. The MWAA study found that building a platform over the Reston Town Center station would cost $1.469 billion but have transportation challenges. While air rights have development potential, significant hurdles around costs, transportation impacts, and land leasing would need to be addressed. A feasibility study for Fairfax County was estimated to cost $150,000-$200,000.

Hydraulic Fracturing Chemicals and Mixtures; Advance Notice of Proposed Rulem...Marcellus Drilling News
A notice from the federal EPA that they intend to craft new regulations requiring something already being done voluntarily--reporting of the chemicals used during hydraulic fracturing for every well drilled in the U.S. The new rule is a naked attempt at regulating oil and gas drilling in the U.s. by the federal government--something specifically left to the individual states to regulate under the U.S. Constitution. It is just one of the many attempts at violating the Constitution made by the EPA under the odious Obama administration.
The document summarizes a request to the EPA to cease dissemination of the Climate Action Report (CAR) due to violations of the Federal Data Quality Act (FDQA). Specifically, it argues that the CAR relies upon and disseminates findings from the National Assessment on Climate Change (NACC) which fails to meet FDQA requirements for objectivity, utility, and reproducibility. It details how the NACC inappropriately used computer models and data that are not scientifically valid, and that the US Global Change Research Program failed to complete all required analyses before releasing the NACC. As a result, the petitioner requests that EPA remove the CAR from its website and cease disseminating it to comply with FDQA guidelines.
The document discusses a proposed disaster management system called Aasare for the Indian states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Bihar. The system would track relief material and fund flows, rehabilitation tasks and progress, victim details and compensation. It includes modules for funds management, task management, compensation, and reporting to help coordinate relief and rehabilitation efforts across multiple levels from village to state.

The proposed ETS Research & Testing Facility in Fort Pierce would help reduce truck idling through collaboration between various stakeholders. It would provide parking, power, and testing facilities to evaluate idle-reduction technologies. The financial feasibility requires partnerships between UF, government agencies, manufacturers, fleets, and drivers. Funding may come from grants, facility usage fees, research subscriptions, and public-private partnerships. It could create jobs and economic activity while helping trucks use less fuel and emit fewer emissions over the next decade.

Kennon Products is a manufacturer that has focused its SBIR efforts on Department of Defense topics because the DoD programs are the end users and buyers of innovations developed. Kennon has had success with its Phase II SBIR for an advanced cabin lining system for the V-22 aircraft and is now post Phase II. Some of its Phase I SBIRs included advanced hull forms, lightweight blast protection, and unsuccessful projects in lightweight aircraft tie downs and UAV noise reduction. Kennon has learned it needs to be prepared for a slow pace with funding gaps between phases and that partnering is essential as is protecting intellectual property with SBIR funding. The goal of SBIR is to commercialize technologies developed to benefit customers or society.
