Human Impact on Information Security - Computer Society of India Conference, ...Anup Narayanan
This document discusses creating an effective information security culture through changing employee behavior. It notes that most security issues stem from cultural problems rather than technical failures. Awareness alone is not enough to create the desired behavior - there must also be enforcement. The solution proposed uses a methodology called HIMIS to assess the current culture and define desired behaviors. Information security champions are selected to increase awareness and provide feedback, while enforcement strategies are developed by the core security team. Regular audits and consistency over time are needed to influence behavior through consequences and repetition. The goal is to progress employees from having no awareness to knowing the rules but not following them, to ultimately knowing and practicing secure behaviors.

Leading with Flexible Targets: How to Create the Performance Revolution - Key...Niels Pflaeging
Niels Pflaeging argues that most organizations still use management models designed for efficiency in the industrial age that are not well-suited for today's complex, knowledge-based economy. He advocates adopting new models that emphasize decentralization, adaptability, customer orientation, and a focus on complexity rather than control. Pflaeging also discusses alternative approaches to strategy, performance management, compensation, and resource coordination that disconnect these functions from fixed targets and hierarchies to better enable organizations to respond to dynamic environments.

The document discusses managing change and innovation in organizations. It describes GE's L.I.G. program which aimed to embed growth into the company's DNA by having business teams constantly seek out growth opportunities. It also discusses balancing short-term goals with long-term innovation through the 5% Factor approach of dedicating 5% of time and resources to exploring new ideas. Key challenges for organizations include increasing complexity, preparing for rapid change, and balancing short and long-term priorities.
This document summarizes Vince Kellen's presentation to the Information Systems Executive Forum on the future of innovation and IT. Kellen argues that while some see IT as a commodity, information itself is not, and innovation requires a deep understanding of how IT shapes forces like markets and culture. He also discusses how companies continue investing heavily in IT due to ancient human migratory behaviors that drive endless novelty-seeking. Finally, Kellen frames innovation as a co-evolutionary process between culture and technology in organizations.

Badgeville Summit, Engage 2012 - KEYNOTE: Proving the Value of Gamificatio...Badgeville, Inc.
1) The document discusses gamification in the enterprise and how it can be used to move organizations from focusing on transactions to engagement.
2) It provides examples of how gamification can be used to influence behavior through non-monetary rewards and recognition.
3) The document outlines a six step process for applying gamification successfully, including identifying business outcomes, designing use cases, applying engagement principles, and gamifying business processes.
The document discusses managing strategic uncertainty and innovation in business. It recommends that businesses 1) speed through the fragile "first mile" phase of moving from plan to reality by being DEFT (documenting plans, evaluating assumptions, focusing on uncertainties, and testing assumptions) and having HOPE during experimentation, 2) increase organizational curiosity to make strategic experimentation a natural part of the culture, and 3) seek chaos, broaden skills, and diversify networks to adapt to discontinuity and lead in times of change. The document emphasizes managing the unknown, testing assumptions quickly and cheaply, and cultivating a culture that supports failure and learning from failures.
1. Competitive intelligence is highly specific and timely information about a corporation that has been analyzed to the point of making decisions.
2. Competitive intelligence is a tool that provides early warnings about threats and opportunities to alert management.
3. Competitive intelligence involves gathering information from a variety of primary and secondary sources.
1) The document summarizes a presentation about exponential technologies given by Rob Nail of Singularity Education Group.
2) It discusses how technologies are being digitized and accelerated exponentially, disrupting industries through dematerialization, demonetization, and democratization.
3) Exponential technologies like computing, networks, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology are developing and converging rapidly according to "the law of accelerating returns", bringing both opportunities and challenges.
The document discusses creating a radically better future through breakthrough innovation and leadership. It talks about seeing problems as opportunities, switching assumptions, and innovating to create disruptive breakthroughs rather than incremental changes. Examples are given of social innovations that addressed issues like poverty and hunger by redesigning solutions and empowering local communities rather than relying on traditional aid approaches. The document advocates switching assumptions about what is possible to generate new insights and proposals.

Bye-bye Management! Why management is dispensable & how leadership for high p...Niels Pflaeging
This document discusses moving away from traditional management approaches and toward more flexible, decentralized leadership models. It argues that most organizations still use management models designed for efficiency in an industrial age, rather than addressing today's complex, knowledge-based economy. It advocates adopting principles of radical decentralization, like giving branches and teams full responsibility and freedom to act. Key aspects of this approach include using relative, self-adjusting targets rather than fixed plans and budgets, flexible resource allocation on demand rather than pre-set allocations, and disconnecting compensation from targets to reduce incentives for manipulation. The document uses the example of Handelsbanken to illustrate how such principles have led to that organization consistently outperforming peers.
Overview of mobile capabilities and behavior change concepts, resources. Presented to the Wireless Innovation Council, May 31, 2012. Dr. Phil Hendrix, immr
This document discusses the need for thought leadership and innovative thinking over a sole focus on technology and data. It argues that meta-ideas, rather than just metadata, are driving innovations today. Interdisciplinary thought across industries and non-traditional hires are needed to develop new perspectives and break from traditional views. As data grows exponentially, new approaches are required that combine different data techniques rather than relying on single technologies. Advanced data modeling is needed to capture human concepts and link data to real-world contexts and objectives.
The document discusses a workshop on therapeutics as an evolving sector, with speakers from Solvotrin Therapeutics and Enterprise Ireland. It outlines several team brainstorming sessions where ideas were proposed around linking universities, SMEs, and multinational companies in areas like cellular assets, clinical trials funding, and startup support. The overall goal was to explore opportunities to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry in therapeutics.
This document summarizes a presentation on disruptive innovation in the digital era. It discusses how the world is constantly changing due to digital technologies like mobile, social media, cloud computing and real-time data. True innovation requires disruptive thinking that changes existing business models rather than just making incremental improvements. To survive, companies must embrace disruption by integrating digital technologies into their products, services and business models in ways that create new value for customers. The presentation provides tips for organizations to adopt this kind of disruptive mindset including investing in learning and testing new ideas, developing a sense of urgency, breaking down silos, and getting everyone involved in digital transformation.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.
