The OpenStack Summit was held from October 27-30, 2015 in Tokyo, Japan. The summit attracted over 5,000 attendees and is an opportunity for the OpenStack community to share information and experiences to further develop the OpenStack projects. Recent trends discussed included containers, integration with commercial networking and storage solutions, and increased maturity of projects. The OpenStack Foundation also announced the upcoming launch of the OpenStack Cloud Administrator certification program.

deployments running the project based on
the latest biannual user survey results.
Maturity comes from looking at 5 distinct
tags that indicate stability and
sustainability. The current criteria includes
whether or not the project has an install
guide, whether it is supported by 7 or more
SDKs, if the adoption percentage is greater
than 75%, whether or not the team has
achieved corporate diversity and whether
or not there are stable branches.
Age is the number of years the project has
been in development.

7. OpenStack Certification Program
● OpenStack Foundation launches Professional Certification Program for
OpenStack Cloud Administrators (COA) will be available in 2016.
● OpenStack Foundation Executive Director Jonathan Bryce announced
during his keynote
● Several companies currently offer OpenStack training
● These companies will provide training and preparation for the COA test
once it becomes available.
● Testing for COA is expected to be available in Q2 2016.
