This document discusses sharing gadgets and widgets between portals. It proposes creating a centralized gadget repository that is open, community-based, moderated, and trusted. The repository would use standardized metadata and APIs to make gadgets discoverable. An experimental repository service called EDUKApp is introduced that runs on ATOM and other APIs. Next steps include improving the GUI, syndicating with other repositories, and integrating with the Apache Rave platform. The document also announces a hackathon event for developing OpenSocial gadgets with SURFnet experts.
