Dutch Digital Pride (at Creative Amsterdam, Ultra Widescreen)Ex Machina
My slides for the discussion in the Dutch Digital Pride session at Creative Amsterdam, May 2011. It is ultra widescreen (12:3) as the room had a 3 screen wide projection system...
Twisting and contorting and layering Digital Elevation Models to yield practical and impractical surfaces. Accentuated topography, mist, flooding, plastic, sunrise, lava, all sorts of bizarre feats can be achieved with the humble and ghostly DEM. This was presented at the 2017 meeting of NACIS (North American Cartographic Information Society). This presentation walks through these examples with great relish.

The myth persists of reaching social media "influentials," despite more and more research showing we share information in small, personal networks of 5-10 people. I discuss the topline arguments, then review the 3 level of listening and engaging currently available: pretenders like Klout, listening platforms like Radian6, and large-scale "big data" analysis like the Dachis Social Business Index. In the end, we're focusing on how to reach consumers on social networks rather than why. Let's build great, resonant brand experiences and social media will scale itself.
Locally charted Green Maps highlight local natural, cultural and green living sites worldwide to promote community sustainability and personal well-being. Transforming local information into global interaction, the new Open Green Map social mapping platform spurs widespread participation as it shares diverse public viewpoints. Explore and get involved at GreenMap.org!
Officially launching on World Environment Day, 2009, there are already more than 50 maps and 4000 green sites on the platform that you can compare, share, update, rate, translate and illustrate! Already a finalist in 2009's Index awards, we heard about the Fuze contest in slideshare. All proceeds and contributions will support Green Map System's continual development to support the greening of communities worldwide.

Primary care in Europe: can we make it fit for the future?Nuffield Trust
In this slideshow, we explore how and why primary care organisation and delivery needs to change and the factors driving this.
We draw on case studies from various European primary care experts who presented at the European Health Summit 2013, an event supported by KPMG, to review the extent to which different models of primary care are already achieving the characteristics of successful primary care, and how they are doing this.
As part of our recent report, Understanding pressures in general practice, we conducted a survey of GP trainees. We asked trainees about their intended future working patterns and their views on the pressures facing general practice, the results of which are presented in these slides.
A workshop for the South Warwickshire GP Federation, exploring the details of the 10 High Impact Actions to release time for care, and the ways in which practices locally wish to use them.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
