The Choice Could it be another platform ??  We didn't find another platform so flexible and complete, ready to use. Why could it be OpenERP ??  OpenErp has a plugin system  It has a development framework  It has a Document Storage  It manages Parts (product)  It manages BOMs  It manages Rules
How are we able to find our place in the Market ? Commercial PLM Programs are already in the Market and they are very well consolidated... E.g.: Siemens, Ptc, Dassault... Open Source PLM Products are not mature enough Lowlevel PLM Products are not very reliable and too basic OmniaSolutions has more then 10 years of PLM experience in development and implementation.
Technical Stuff .. We are really integrated with CAD applications using Koo Framework (PyQT) to use OpenERP We use XML-RPC to comunicate with OpenERP Wedeveloped a COM server that allow CAD application to speak with OpenERP server COM XML-RPC OpenERP CAD Clerk Application Server
