IMPORTANT: Snack Info 
Students can bring in a HEALTHY snack to have 
each day. We usually have snack around 10:30. 
For birthdays, we celebrate all of a month’s 
birthdays on the last Friday. Students who had a 
birthday or half birthday (for summer birthdays) 
can bring something in on that day. 
If your child has an allergy and you want me to 
have a “stand-by” snack for them feel free to 
send one in.

Reader’s Response letters due every other 
week. To be completed during Work on Writing, 
however, if students do not complete them

Activities include buddy check, word hunts, 
word webs (to explore the meaning of roots) 
and word sorts.

AAPS uses the Science Companion curriculum

Social Studies

O.S.C.A.R.S. stands for “Outstanding, 
Studious, Clever, and Responsible Students” 
It is an optional “club” for students who want 
to go above and behind 
It is a list of 75 different research tasks. 
Students complete them in a notebook and 
come to me to be quizzed. They earn stars 
for the ones they complete.
