The One Minute Manager, a book by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson. According to Blanchard's website, it has sold more than 13 million copies and has been translated into 37 languages. The brief volume tells a story, recounting three techniques of an effective manager: one-minute goals, one-minute praisings and one-minute reprimands. Each of these takes only a minute but is purportedly of lasting benefit. It was followed by a series of sequels,[3] including Leadership and the One Minute Manager, by Ken Blanchard, Patricia Zigarmi and DreaZigarmi, which laid out Blanchard's Situational Leadership II concept.

- 3. Introduction The one minute manager will reveal : “How people produce valueable result and feel good about themselves, the organization and the other people with whom they work.”

- 7. One minute manager • Effective managers manage themselves and the people they work with and that both the organisation and the people profit from their presence. • People and result are equally important!
- 8. People who feel good about themselves produce good results! Helping people to feel good about themselves is a key to getting more done.
- 9. First secret: One Minute Goal Setting
- 10. First Secret: One Minute Goal Setting • Clarity as to what the goal is, what need to be done and what is the standard of good performance. • Each goal is recorded in not more than single page i. e. 250 words. • 80-20 goal setting rule.
- 11. Help people reach their full potential. Catch them doing something RIGHT. VS.
- 12. Second secret: One Minute Praising How to praise • Praise at the very 1st opportunity. • Be sincere • Show that you want him/her to prosper • Look straight in the eye and tell exactly what he/she did right.
- 13. Third secret: One Minute Reprimand You try to catch them doing something right. But if they have skills to do something right and yet they don’t; Give them One Minute Reprimand.
- 14. How to deliver One Minute Reprimands
- 15. Dos and Don’ts Dos • When it’s over it’s over • Always do the 1st and 2nd half in sequence. • Do tell them that they are value able and worthwhile. Don’ts • Don’t attack him/her as a person, only his/her behavior. • Don’t “bombard”.
