This document discusses some difficulties and limitations with using the TPACK framework for assessment and evaluation. It identifies three main issues: 1) fuzziness in how TPACK is defined, 2) a techno-centric focus that does not consider students or how technology changes teaching, and 3) misapplication of the TPACK model, such as using Venn diagrams as logical models when they are better as illustrations. The document proposes assessing for the hybrid domains of TPACK rather than its individual components to address these issues in a way that captures TPACK's complexity without being overly complicated. It questions whether direct assessment of TPACK is even necessary.
