ON MY WAY OUTREACH
ON MY WAY OUTREACH
"On My Way" is a powerful 90-minute outreach production that poignantly transports the
audience on a journey inside the lives of individuals overtaken by alcohol and substance abuse.
The production is performed by each participating school's students. (Selected via casting call
one week prior, With no prior acting experience necessary.) These students will re-write a
script and improvise real life scenarios taken from every day accounts depicting afflicted
homes across America.
With no script, the students reenact scenes they have written based on actual events gleaned
from those who have experienced the emotional and physical destruction that results from
exposure to these addictions.
"On My Way" is not just a prevention program, but in addition provides the tools needed to
cultivate intervention as well as a path to recovery. The live production is a sobering glimpse
into how families and communities are affected and negatively impacted by substance abuse.
Based On A True Story
In the Eighties a program entitled, "Eddie Was Here" impacted the lives of over a million teens.
"Warning Signs", produced and directed by composer Jerry Sardinha, will revisit some of the
dynamics from the original "Eddie Was Here" program, as well as provide contemporary
themes and resources to empower teens and their families.
Our Goal
To enlighten and bring together students, parents and concerned members of the community.
Providing understanding as well as a paradigm for successful intervention and healing.
