2. OLYMPIC GAMES
The Olympics games are leading international sporting events featuring
summer and winter sports competitions in which thousands of athletes
from around the world participate in a variety of competitions.
Consider as the a highest and tough sport competition.
Conducted after every 4 Years.
Olympic winners are considered the world best Athletes.
3. ANCIENT OLYMPICS
Staring of Olympic games/Ancient Olympics.
Research found that Ancient Olympic games Started in 776 BC in
Greece.
Celebrate as a festival in the honour of God Zeus.
Olympic Games or Olympics get their name from Mount Olympus, the
highest mountain in Greece or Olympia.
40 feet statue was there of God Zeus, looks like that Real God Zeus
present there and give blessings to them.
4. Women are not allowed to participate.
Wars and disputes among Towns/city/State Would be stopped at once And a truce would be
declared.
All competitors or visittors travelling without any fear.
People Participate Nude (Without clothes).

5. Foot race was the only item in Ancient Olympics and it was conducted in a single
day.
Later other events such as chariot race , horse race, boxing, wrestling ,
Pebtalhlon ( Running ,long jump, discuss throw, javelin throw and wrestling etc.)
Were added.
When Greece came under Roman domination then Roman Emperor Theodosius -
1 termminated the games in 394 A.D.
In 426 A.D. Theodosius -2 destroy the Stadium.
And the Earthquake destroy the remaining thing.
River Alhpeus took the Olympia in its arms and the entire city drowned in the
6. MODERN OLYMPICS
Started in 1896.
With the effort of Pierre de cOubertin From France also know as the father
of Olympic games.
Women were admitted in 1900 as participants in Olympics.
Duration – 16 days.
Athens 1896 Olympic Games, athletic festival held in Athens that took
place April 6–15, 1896. The Athens Games were the first occurrence of the
modern Olympic Games.
Continued conducted after every 4 year Except (1916, 1940,1944, 2020).
7. Paralympics
The Paralympics is a mega sports event involving athletes with a range of
disabilities organized by International Paralympic Committee.
The range of disabilities includes impaired muscle power and limb
deficiency ( Inblance in body part, Vision impairment, muscular
dystrophy, post-polio syndrome, spina bifida Etc.
The word Paralympics is derived from the Greek word para which means
beside or along side and Olympic.
Paralympics means an international Games competition that is parallel
to the Olympics.
8. International Paralympic Committee (IPC) was formed on 22
September 1989.
First took place
in Rome, Italy,
in 1960
13. Special Olympics
The Special Olympics World Games are an international sporting
competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities, organized by the
IOC-recognised Special Olympics organisation.
Intellectual disability (ID), is below-average intelligence or mental
ability and a lack of skills necessary for day-to-day living
Conducted after every 2 years.
The Logo of Special Olympics is based on the sculpture “Joy and
Happiness to All the Children of the World” by Zurab Tsereteli and was
adopted in 1979.
