2. 21st Nov 2013
Here, we have downloaded all the clips of the filming day and
erased the unnecessary ones. Also, we have started to put them
in sequence.
3. 21st Nov 2013
This is a shot of an example where we have used a transition.
We used a cross fade here because it gives an early insight as
to where Darcy is heading, keeping the audience on edge.
4. 21st Nov 2013
Here we used the effect of having two shots overlaying each
other. We used the headless teddy as one, and the stuffing on
the floor for the other. We chose these two shots because they
both show the extent of damage Darcy had done therefore
compliment each other well.
5. 26th Nov 2013
Here we are editing the clip of the family pictures being ruined.
Through doing this we created low-key lighting in the clip to
reflect on the hatred Darcy feels towards them. Also, we used a
higher proportion of blue to indicate the coldness Darcy feels
towards them too.
6. 26th Nov 2013
For the teddy bear scene, we used the “hard lighting” effect to
make the image appear sharper and more aggressive to imply
Darcy’s angry emotions. Also, we positioned a light in front of
me (Darcy) to create more shadows, therefore making me
appear more sinister and scary looking.
7. 5th Dec 2013
This very subtle change in lighting,
reflects on how Darcy feels calm and
relaxed at the beginning of the opening
sequence, however after finding the
criticizing letter, she snaps and the
darker, unstable side of her is released.
After Darcy finds the note,
the lighting goes from
being very bright, to being
darker, sharper and more
intense. We created the
brightness by increasing
the exposure levels, and
created the darkness and
intensity by lowering the
exposure levels and using
the “hard light” effect.
This shot is an example of
the “hard light” effect,
after Darcy finds the letter.

However, although this is before Darcy finds the letter, we
made it look darker by using the “Vignette” effect. This blacked
out the sides of the image.
We used this effect here, to foreshadow that her darker side is
soon to come. Also, it fits in well with the mise en scene,
because, here I (Darcy) am pulling a very concentrated facial
expression, reflecting on my obsessive behavior, also
foreshadowing the darker side too.
9. 5th Dec 2013
Similarly as the previous slide, although this clip is after
Darcy finds the letter, we have used high-key lighting by
using an effect called “glow”, and my facial expression is
very happy and smiley. We have done this to show how
emotionally unstable Darcy is, because one minute she is
devastated about the letter and the next she is beaming
about it.
10. 5th Dec 2013
This is an example of where we have used high-key lighting before
Darcy (me) finds the letter. This is also the clip which introduces
Darcy to the viewer. I think that me appearing from around the
corner foreshadows that I am a mysterious and shadowy
character.
