ELECTRO-MOTIVE DIESEL LA GRANGE, IL(SEPTEMBER 2011 – PRESENT)
EMD is a global provider of diesel-electric locomotives and diesel power engines. They are primarily serving commercial railroad
applications such as: freight, intercity passenger,commuter, switching, industrial and mining.
LOCOMOTIVE SYSTEMS ENGINEER JUNE 2014 – PRESENT
Lead systems engineer for all new locomotive R&D projects withinBrazil and Saudi Arabia markets.
Additionally serving as Program Manager for the above markets. Proven success operating in dual roles while
simultaneously providing labor force cost reduction. This role typically requires a separate individual to operate as PM.
Compose locomotive engineering/sales specifications based on technical settlement of details from customer requirements.
Responsible for planning locomotive design strategy, oversee all new designs with respect to assigned orders and ensure
compliance with specifications.
Project lead for largest EMD Redesign and rework of completed locomotive, to date. Coordinated redesign, rework, and
customer inspection for overhauling a locomotive to meet a new tunnel clearance, overseas in Brazil. Locomotive rear end
(Cooling Hood) was dropped by 7” and Cabin Sides tilted in by 6 degrees.
EDL DEVELOPMENTAL ENGINEER SEPTEMBER 2011 – JUNE 2014
Designed and developed the first 90/10 engineer’s workstation for the GT locomotive model line. New concept promotes
modularity and reduces design and drafting hours for the engineer’s console on all future GT orders.
Created and instituted EMD’s first uniform surface finish identification procedure. Project included: reconfiguring ERP
software, developing new apparatus instructions, and performing companywide training sessions. New procedure furthers
manufacturing and purchasing efficiency while reducing vendor quality issues. .
Hosted workshops in Teamcenter engineering and Unigraphics solid modeling. These skills directly lessen the amount of
drafting hours required per new design and improved the core content of all requested new designs .
Developed new procedures’ for the EDL department’s Request For Design documentation. New format reduces clutter and
has proved to be easier to understand for the EMD product design group.
BROOKVILLE EQUIPMENT CORPORATION BROOKVILLE, PA (JUNE 2010 – JULY 2011)
Completed a one year opportunity at Brookville Equipment Corporation. The company is an OEM manufacturer of underground,
freight, and passengerlocomotives. Company specialize in battery and diesel powered equipment.
MECHANICAL/TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER
Worked directly with sales team and customers to provide locomotive quotes and sizing based on current component
pricing, availability, and system requirements.
Developed first effective diesel hydraulic quoting worksheet program, reduced engineering time by 3 hours per new sales
quote.
Introduced new cost effective technology within designs, items included: state-of-the art radio control systems, high
efficiency DPF filters, and engine systemdiagnostic displays.
