TeamLeader (Modification and Commissioning) December 2013 – Present
Leading a team of 40 engineers to manage the day to day delivery of a large scale multiple phased
modification programme for the “S-Stock” fleet of trains. The role, also required the organisation and
supervision of the commissioning and decommissioning of all units, travelling to Bombardiers U.K.
manufacturing base in Derby and those arriving in London across various depots. The fleet covers 25% of the
entire London Underground network and as a joint venture between London Underground and Bombardier
Transportation, was tasked with achieving the status of a ‘World Class Service’.
Responsibilities
Management and motivation of engineering team and sub-contractors.
Planning and supervising delivery of all modification (Electrical, Mechanical, Doors and Software), and
commissioning work flow within project timescales and to KPI targets.
Maximo reporting of all work orders (planned and reactive), ensuring accurate reporting of labour and
tooling and component changes.
Implementing and maintaining required governance standards, processes and guidelines (HSE, risk
assessment, in process checks and depot safety tours).
Event investigation involving root cause analysis of any faults, producing briefs for toolbox talks.
Highlight any issues with V.M.I’s, or tooling specific for the mod/fleet check, producing reports detailing
the issue and identifying any corrective measures.
Organise and deliver staff briefings and manage staff training and competency assessments in a timely
manner as required.
Attend daily performance and planning meetings, both in house and customer facing.
Providing technical support to resolve performance issues and enhance knowledge of the train systems
performance.
Communicating with internal and external third party organisations using a variety of methods to achieve
relevant outcomes
Provide cover for roles of modification and commissioning manager as required.
Key Achievements
On time delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Modification Program for the S8 fleet. Currently on
target for Phase 1 of the S7 fleet.
Surpassing London Undergrounds target for fleet reliability.
Delivery of Bombardiers Error Reduction Tool (B.E.R.T.). A human factors initiative which saw a
significant reduction in the number of operator error related faults.
Created a materials management system, for our material suppliers in Derby to access and track low
stock items ensuring continued work flow.
Modification Technician October 2012 – December 2013
Carried out a variety of modifications and fleet checks (mechanical, electrical, doors and software) on
Bombardiers new S-Stock fleet.
Responsibilities
Follow V.M.I.’s to complete a variety of modifications and fleet checks. These could be mechanical, solid-
state electrical or on the door systems.
Functional testing of all systems on unit.
Loading of software upgrades.
Trial of new modifications.

Senior Exam Technician April 2012 – September 2012
Carried out safety critical inspection work as a senior category 4 technician, on the Greater Anglia fleets Class
315, 317 and 321 units. Completing various exams on each unit, I would be solely responsible for the
Underframe and Bogie detailed inspections and carrying out all types of remedial works as necessary.
Responsibilities
Carried out detailed inspection of Class 315, 317 and 321 underframe’s and bogies to fault find any
problems/defects and compile a report of any problems found
Gauged and inspected vehicle parts, including brake pads, brake discs and wheels, to ensure their safety,
or replacing where standards were not met
Carrying out any remedial works, following the correct V.M.I’s, as they occur (changing primary, lateral and
yaw dampers, radial arms, self-levelling valves, leaking pipework etc.) and any subsequent testing such as
coach height testing, brake testing and timing and reporting all results.
Liaising with team leaders, to report any faults and the necessary remedial works and organising the
technician assistants to ensure the necessary work was carried out efficiently and the unit could return to
service on time but also in severe circumstances, ensuring the unit was made “dud” if unsafe to go back
into service without more severe maintenance work.
Key Achievements
Completed assessment to carry out safety critical inspection work.
Provided cover for the company during the busy Olympic period, with zero delays and zero faults.

Mechanical Fitter December 2011 – April 2012
Assembly of the prototype and subsequent vehicles for Network Rails Snow and Ice Treatment Train (SITT)
Project; a new design of rolling stock vehicle.
Responsibilities
Disassembly and overhaul of a 2 axle wagon and subsequent reassembly and conversion as per the new
‘snow plough design’.

First article inspection of various components (using various tooling including micrometres, Vernier
callipers etc.) to ensure compliance and quarantining failed components.
Air testing of the new snow plough wagons braking system, through various operating settings, and
necessary adjustment to ensure safety compliance.
Assembly of the Snow/Ice Treatment Wagons Control Module, fitting all mechanical and hydraulic
components and the system of pipework.
Develop a build process for the control module to increase productivity and efficiency.
Highlight any issues or improvements discovered during the manufacturing process not evident in the
engineering drawings.
Reassembly of the Snow/Ice Treatment Wagons converted underframe (installing the braking system
including all linkages, components & associated pipework and additional ‘inter-module’ pipework).
Assembly of the Snow/ Ice Treatment Wagons craning of various modules, buffers, brake couplings etc.
Machining of new components as per conversion specification.
Key Achievements
Completed the projectbefore deadline,an achievementon newly designed vehicles including the projects prototype.
Suggestions on design improvements to improve the manufacturing process were subsequentlyused saving time and
coston the project.
Using a wide variety of manufacturing processes and techniques to build to new designs efficiently.
