Old Town in Chicago has some of the oldest architecture in the city, including St. Michael's Church that survived the Great Chicago Fire. It was also home to the counterculture movement in the 1960s-1970s and had racial tensions following Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. To get there from Loyola, take the Red Line to Clark/Division and walk north on Clark Street then west on Goethe Street, or take Lakeshore Drive and La Salle Street to North Avenue. Notable establishments in Old Town include Second City, Twin Anchor Bar & Grill, and the Chicago History Museum.
