Lincoln Park is a community located in the North of the 
greater Chicago area. It is surrounded by the Diversey 
parkway, Lake Michigan, and the Chicago River. Lincoln 
Park is the perfect place for a night on the town! The 
neighborhood is known for its boutiques and high-end 
retailers on Armitage Avenue, cafes, restaurants and 
bakeries on Clark Street as well as bars, museums, and 
theatres.

-1837-1866: the SE portion of Lincoln Park was a cemetery 
- 1864: the land was redesignated for Lake Park; burials in the 
cemetery ceased 
-1865: The park was renamed Lincoln Park to honor the late President 
- Around 1890 many of the areas trademarks were established. These 
include the bike paths, Lake Shore Drive, and early parts of Lincoln 
Park Zoo 
- In the 1860s the population in the area was majority Eastern 
European
