2. Locating the Media type selections within the Pro9541WT PostScript Driver
Transfer media selections within the PostScript driver are located on the “Paper/Quality”
tab. From an application, click-on: FILE → PRINT → Printer Properties → Paper/Quality
then select the corresponding media in the dropdown list.

3. Trapping Options
Trapping is a feature that helps to hide unintended white edges that sometimes appear
around color objects, especially when transferring to a dark shirt. The Pro9541WT utilizes
Choke and Spread trapping features. Spread slightly expands the edges of color objects,
while Choke shrinks or contracts the white toner underneath objects to yield clean edges
around an object.

The Trapping option within the PostScript driver is located on the “Job Options” tab. The
most aggressive trapping is achieved by selecting “Wide/Choke White” in dropdown box as
shown below.

4. Media Size Selections
In addition to Letter-size and Tabloid-size, the Pro9541WT supports extra-large media sizes
such A3 Wide, Tabloid Extra (12” x 18”) and custom sizes up to 13” wide and 52-inches long.
Choose the media size within the PostScript driver by clicking on the Paper/Quality tab and
pressing the “Advanced…” button.
Additional sizes are supported by selecting “PostScript Custom Page Size” and entering the
physical dimensions as shown below for 12.5” x 19” media.

5. Intelligent White Toner Placement
White toner is handled as a “Spot Color” within the Pro9541WT. Settings to control the
“White” spot color are accessed by clicking on the “Color” tab and pressing the “Spot Color”
button (see below).
Do Not Use – White is not applied.
Full Page – White flood coats the page (rarely used)
Data Portion (Excluding white) – May help to eliminate surrounding areas that should not be white while
still placing white under color objects or images.
Data Portion (Including White) – Great choice for artwork designed using vector outlines and text. White is
automatically applied only under these objects.
Printing only spot color toner – Everything is printed using only white toner. Think of it as using a
black/white printer with white toner installed. Black text and line art prints using just white toner.
Application Specification – Used when applications such as Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw have specifically
called-out the white spot color by name, like using Pantone named colors. White areas must be identified
by the application using the spot color name “SpotColor_White.”
NOTE: When printing PDF files, “Simulate Overprinting” should be selected in the Advanced options of
Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
