Can you believe it?
It is already October. Time sure flies when
you are having fun. Thanks parents for using
the homework book to write me notes and
keep our communication lines open. Parents
are welcome. Come and visit and help out.
MATH IMPROVES
YOUR HEALTH
Well, maybe not directly but in the long run it
does. I have noticed that our grade 3/4
students need to practise their math facts.
Can you spend five minutes a night practicing
flash cards with them? I will be sending
flashcards home in the days to come.
READ A BOOK
Parents, keep encouraging your children to
read. We have a fun reading program in our
Grade 3/4 class. We are traveling around the
province. There are lots of prizes to be had
for reading and reading. Reading is fun.
There are lots of adventures and mysteries to
enjoy. In October, we will start doing book
reports too on books that we read.
GO! GO! GO!
GRADE 4/5/6
SOCCER TEAM
Wow! The RCS soccer team has been doing
great. They won against Rocky Christian
School a week ago (5-4). They tied against
Ponoka Christian School not long ago (2-2).
Thanks to awesome parents that help out.
Two more games to go:
Away game to Rocky Mtn. House on
Tuesday, October 5 and
Home game against Ponoka on Thursday,
October 7 (recent plan change).
THE END OFCOMPUTERS MAXUS
On Monday, October 4, our grade 3/4 class
will go and see how Maxus, our local
computer-recycling terminal takes care of
computers that are no longer usable. The
students are excited about what they will find
out. This is part of our unit on Waste and the
World where we are learning to be
responsible stewards of the world that God
gave us to take care of.
2. The Friendly Dragon

One Christmas when my grandmother was over,
they gave us a ticket to West Edmonton Mall and
Fantasyland. When we got there, we went straight
to the games. We had so much fun. Then we went
to Fantasyland hotel. It was so cool. There were
Roman rooms, sea rooms, truck rooms, and palace
rooms. Sadly, we just got plain rooms.
Once we were settled in, we went to get
something to eat at Wendy’s. At Wendy’s, I
noticed a dragon statue. It was beautiful.
Then it winked at me. “Yikes!” I said.
“What is it?” My dad said.
“Nothing,” I answered. I thought I was seeing
things. I couldn’t of, I know I saw something
wink. When I caught up with my family, I
asked my dad if dragons lived still.
“Oh yes. Sometimes they gobble up little
girls like you,” he said sarcastically.
“No! Really!?” I said.
“Not that I know of,” he said. When we got
back to our room, I noticed the statue was by
our door. Then I stopped. I….
