Observational Documentaries
Definition Observational documentaries tend to simply observe, allowing viewers to reach whatever conclusions they like. In observational documentaries the camera follows the person as the events unfold, you watch it as it happens showing the audience exactly what is happening.    Light equipment is used, like hand held cameras which makes it easier to follow the person and action. -Hand held cameras are used for location shots -No interviews included -No voiceover -Synchronous sound incorporated -Usually this mode of documentary is used for war documentaries- following the person and seeing the events unfold -Long takes used.
Examples of observational documentaries: -Big Brother -Peter Andre: The Next Chapter -Kerry Katona: The Next Chapter -What Katie did Next -The Only Way is Essex -Made In Chelsea
