I'm going to attempt to evalutate the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. This is totally foreign to me and I feel vulnerable trying to answer these questions! Any help or better insight to this stuff would be much appreciated.
From the perspective of a descriptive critic I would comment on the lack of lines and use of shadowing to create separation. The colors are very muted throughout the piece with the exception of her skin. Her skin appears to glow in contrast to her clothes and the background giving the painting a lot of value (if I'm using that term correct)? Leonardo made her in the shape of an isosceles triangle with her shoulders turned slightly to give her a posed position and not a relaxed position (Jacobus & Martin, 2019).
From the perspective of an interpretive critic I would comment that it is the most famous piece of artwork in the world because of her unknown identity and smile. "It is thought to be of Lisa Gherardini, wife of a Florentine cloth merchant named Francesco del Giocondo," (Scailliérez, 2020). When Leonardo finished the painting, he gave the painting to France. The emotion responsible for her smile will always be a mystery and speculating on it never gets old. Leonardo also broke away from outlining images and used the technique sfumato which uses blending, layering, and transitions that are impossible to see (Mona Lisa, n.d.).
From the perspective of an evaluative critic I would comment that the form is fluid throughout the piece. Nothing sticks out in a bad way, Lisa just glows and her eyes are obviously the focus at first. Her gaze seems to captivate people and make people curious about her and what she's thinking. I would consider that point effective insight. This piece is obviously inexhaustable, has staying power in my own words, as it is studied in education and visited daily at The Louvre.

One of the examples I chose for my readings was, “ For Coloured girls who have considered suicide/ when the rainbow is Enuf” by poet Ntozake Shanges. Shanges writes the excerpt in the first person. I enjoy writing stories in the first person. When writing in the first person everything is told intimately. The expert is about cruelty in a racist and sexist society. It is obvious from the name of the title the poet uses race to form an important part of the character’s identity. In the excerpt, she describes the lady that enters the stage as the “lady in Brown” and their racial identity and gender and only identified by their color have an effect, the perspective through which the readers experience all of the different narratives. Shanges uses common abbreviations and occasional derivations from traditional English as well as jargon and metaphors. This helps to reveal who the social group is. The use of language helps the protagonist express their feelings or explain their way of thinking. Shanges uses language that is very distinctive which makes the character’s voice very powerful. This excerpt has many similarities to the novel that I will be working on. The novel I will work on is in the first person and the theme is about discrimination and the injustices of human beings. I am happy I got a chance to read this excerpt, it was very powerful and gave me some ideas that I will most likely use for my novel.

On the tomcat drive in folder cosc210 you will find file named PainterStartup.zip. This file contains the source code for the start of a Painter program. In its current state, Painter can create boxes and text objects at given locations. Both boxes and text objects can be repositioned and resized using a mouse. The task is to add to the program the implementation for an oval, line, image, and group objects.
Instructions:
Add an oval object. An oval is very similar in implementation as the box, except it renders an oval instead of a rectangle. The oval can be repositioned by dragging the object to a new location. The oval can be resized by first clicking over the oval to display grab handles and then dragging a grab handle to a new position. The grab handles are to be rendered at the same positions as the box. Likewise, clicking anywhere in the smallest rectangle that encloses the oval performs selection.
Add a Line object. A Line is to be created by selecting a Line tool and then click and drag over the canvas. The line is rendered from the point of the initial click to the mouse pointer. On releasing the mouse the construction of the line object is completed. A partial implementation of a PtrDrawLine object is provided. You will need to fix the rendering, click over, and test for inside a rectangle.
A Line is selected by clicking anywhere over the line. Right now if you click anywhere in the rectangular region hold the line, then the line is selected. The implementation is in the isOver method. This needs to be fixed to only select when the click is on the line.

Today at noon, an undercover, Federal Agent, Hans Cuff arranged a briefing at the sheriff’s department. All the ATF agents, Grantham County Deputies, and University City Officers involved in the drug investigation regarding the large shipment of meth were present for this meeting.
Cuff informed the officers that the confidential informant, Mookie, called him this morning to fill him in on the details of the shipment of meth. Mookie told Cuff to be at 123 Elm Street, University City, at 3:00 p.m.; this is when and where the delivery of meth will take place. After the briefing, Cuff was fitted with a wire so the other officers could hear what was transpiring in the house. All the officers received their instructions on where to post around the house and down the street so as not to draw attention to themselves. At 2:45 p.m., Agent Cuff arrived at 123 Elm Street and knocked at the door.
Mookie answered the door and told Cuff to come inside; once Cuff stepped into the house, Mookie shut the door behind him. All of a sudden, Dreadford grabbed Cuff’s right arm and another male who Cuff did not know grabbed his left arm. Mookie put a gun to the back of Cuff’s head and told him to kneel.
Cuff slowly kneeled to the floor; he said, “The same thing happened to me in Vegas” (
This was the safe phrase to alert the other officers that Cuff was in trouble
). In no time at all, several officers kicked in the front and back doors, entered the house, and held all three suspects at gunpoint. The officers arrested Mookie, Dreadford, and the other male identified as Pedro Ramirez without incident. After reading the suspects Miranda warnings, both Dreadford and Ramirez asked for an attorney, so the officers booked these two into the county jail.
Mookie was the only one who agreed to talk but only if he could get a deal. Detective Stubblefield said he would speak to the county prosecutor and see what he could do. However, the deal was dependent on the value of the information. Mookie told Detective Stubblefield that the dispatcher dating Dreadford is the one who gave them all the confidential information on the city and county’s drug investigations. Mookie asked Detective Stubblefield if the information was good enough to get a deal.
Detective Stubblefield said, “I believe it is.” Detective Stubblefield put Mookie into protective custody and booked him in the county jail where the correctional officers will make sure to segregate Mookie from other inmates.
Based on the information Mookie provided, Stubblefield received a warrant to search Badpenny’s house. When the officers served the warrant, and arrested and charged Imogene Badpenny with possession of methamphetamines (felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), and official misconduct (misdemeanor) (using her position at the sheriff’s office to access confidential information for personal gain). Oppression is a common theme in many stones. This theme refers to the injustices that people have had to go through given their color, place of origin, and their income levels. This oppression, as seen in most stories, can be imposed by people from other races such as the Whites oppressing the Africans or even the Africans oppressing each other simply because they hold a senior position in the government or in the community. The theme of oppression is often used in stories to illustrate the inequalities that exist in the society when one group considers itself to be superior and thus, feel they should control everything while enjoying at the expense of the general population. Highlighting oppression through stories is important in literary works as it allows readers to realize the effects of their actions, whether done knowingly or unknowingly in the day to day life.
Bessie Head was a South African writer who is usually considered Botswana’s most influential writer. She wrote novels and short stories that are infused with spiritual questioning and reflection. She used the theme of oppression in her story to emphasize the dehumanization and cruelty suffered by many South Africans during the era where racism was the daily bread in their lives.
“The Prisoner Who Wore Glasses” is a short story about a group of South African political prisoners called Span One, who work at the prison farm collecting cabbages. Due to their few political crimes, they took control of the prison, breaking the rules and doing what they wanted. His days of control ended when a new warder arrived at the prison called Warder Hannetjie, an extremely strict and brutal guard whose actions are dehumanizing. One of his worst abuses was to beat up a man with glasses for a misdemeanor called Brille. Due to their mistreatment in prison, all prisoners lived in fear and felt deprived of their liberty by this new guard, until they decide to blackmail the guard blaming him with the authorities of stealing fertilizer to place it on his farm. Hannetjie tries to buy Brille's silence by offering tobacco for him and his group, however, Brille again accuses him with the authorities of offering them smuggled tobacco. Finally, Hannetjie and Brille reached an agreement that Hannetjie would stop being so mean to the other prisoners while the Span One group would help him steal supplements for his farm, where both Hannetjie and Span One begin to change for good between them themselves and with the other prisoners.
In the story, oppression is reflected in racial segregation and dehumanization. This story is set in South Africa after World War II, when racial segregation was inevitable in those days. Violence and discrimination are very common factors in prisons today, however, at the time in which this story is based, it was a nightmare for prisoners because they lived under heavy punishment and.

I enjoy writing stories in the first person. When writing in the first person everything is told intimately. The expert is about cruelty in a racist and sexist society. It is obvious from the name of the title the poet uses race to form an important part of the character’s identity. In the excerpt, she describes the lady that enters the stage as the “lady in Brown” and their racial identity and gender and only identified by their color have an effect, the perspective through which the readers experience all of the different narratives. Shanges uses common abbreviations and occasional derivations from traditional English as well as jargon and metaphors. This helps to reveal who the social group is. The use of language helps the protagonist express their feelings or explain their way of thinking. Shanges uses language that is very distinctive which makes the character’s voice very powerful. This excerpt has many similarities to the novel that I will be working on. The novel I will work on is in the first person and the theme is about discrimination and the injustices of human beings. I am happy I got a chance to read this excerpt, it was very powerful and gave me some ideas that I will most likely use for my novel.

Instructions:
Add an oval object. An oval is very similar in implementation as the box, except it renders an oval instead of a rectangle. The oval can be repositioned by dragging the object to a new location. The oval can be resized by first clicking over the oval to display grab handles and then dragging a grab handle to a new position. The grab handles are to be rendered at the same positions as the box. Likewise, clicking anywhere in the smallest rectangle that encloses the oval performs selection.
Add a Line object. A Line is to be created by selecting a Line tool and then click and drag over the canvas. The line is rendered from the point of the initial click to the mouse pointer. On releasing the mouse the construction of the line object is completed. A partial implementation of a PtrDrawLine object is provided. You will need to fix the rendering, click over, and test for inside a rectangle.
A Line is selected by clicking anywhere over the line. Right now if you click anywhere in the rectangular region hold the line, then the line is selected. The implementation is in the isOver method. This needs to be fixed to only select when the click is on the line.

The project designs a school computer lab with the necessary hardware and software components along with the IP address for different components. The computer lab consists of one IP network with 100 computers on one Domain. The files are shared using FTP server. Servers are configured with Static IP address and clients have dynamic IP addresses received from a DHCP Server. Programming software like Java, C,C++ are installed on all the users PC’s. The softwares are also available on the FTP server, as a downloadable. Identify the necessary components like software , hardware and IP network schema to setup the network.
*How to implement the project*
The lab consists of 100 computers. So a total of 48 port *3 switches would be required. The FTP server can be Windows based or Linux flavor. Windows or Linux based DHCP servers can be setup as DHCP Server. The network address of 192.168.1.0 can be configured as a Scope on DHCP Server. Since all the users are belonging to one domain, an active directory can be configured with one single domain name.

Today at noon, an undercover, Federal Agent, Hans Cuff arranged a briefing at the sheriff’s department. All the ATF agents, Grantham County Deputies, and University City Officers involved in the drug investigation regarding the large shipment of meth were present for this meeting.
Cuff informed the officers that the confidential informant, Mookie, called him this morning to fill him in on the details of the shipment of meth. Mookie told Cuff to be at 123 Elm Street, University City, at 3:00 p.m.; this is when and where the delivery of meth will take place. After the briefing, Cuff was fitted with a wire so the other officers could hear what was transpiring in the house. All the officers received their instructions on where to post around the house and down the street so as not to draw attention to themselves. At 2:45 p.m., Agent Cuff arrived at 123 Elm Street and knocked at the door.
Mookie answered the door and told Cuff to come inside; once Cuff stepped into the house, Mookie shut the door behind him. All of a sudden, Dreadford grabbed Cuff’s right arm and another male who Cuff did not know grabbed his left arm. Mookie put a gun to the back of Cuff’s head and told him to kneel.
Cuff slowly kneeled to the floor; he said, “The same thing happened to me in Vegas” (
This was the safe phrase to alert the other officers that Cuff was in trouble
). In no time at all, several officers kicked in the front and back doors, entered the house, and held all three suspects at gunpoint. The officers arrested Mookie, Dreadford, and the other male identified as Pedro Ramirez without incident. After reading the suspects Miranda warnings, both Dreadford and Ramirez asked for an attorney, so the officers booked these two into the county jail.
Mookie was the only one who agreed to talk but only if he could get a deal. Detective Stubblefield said he would speak to the county prosecutor and see what he could do. However, the deal was dependent on the value of the information. Mookie told Detective Stubblefield that the dispatcher dating Dreadford is the one who gave them all the confidential information on the city and county’s drug investigations. Mookie asked Detective Stubblefield if the information was good enough to get a deal.
Detective Stubblefield said, “I believe it is.” Detective Stubblefield put Mookie into protective custody and booked him in the county jail where the correctional officers will make sure to segregate Mookie from other inmates.
Based on the information Mookie provided, Stubblefield received a warrant to search Badpenny’s house. When the officers served the warrant, and arrested and charged Imogene Badpenny with possession of methamphetamines (felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), and official misconduct (misdemeanor) (using her position at the sheriff’s office to access confidential information for personal gain). Oppression is a common theme in many stones. This theme refers to the injustices that people have had to go through given their color, place of origin, and their income levels. This oppression, as seen in most stories, can be imposed by people from other races such as the Whites oppressing the Africans or even the Africans oppressing each other simply because they hold a senior position in the government or in the community. The theme of oppression is often used in stories to illustrate the inequalities that exist in the society when one group considers itself to be superior and thus, feel they should control everything while enjoying at the expense of the general population. Highlighting oppression through stories is important in literary works as it allows readers to realize the effects of their actions, whether done knowingly or unknowingly in the day to day life.
Bessie Head was a South African writer who is usually considered Botswana’s most influential writer. She wrote novels and short stories that are infused with spiritual questioning and reflection. She used the theme of oppression in her story to emphasize the dehumanization and cruelty suffered by many South Africans during the era where racism was the daily bread in their lives.
“The Prisoner Who Wore Glasses” is a short story about a group of South African political prisoners called Span One, who work at the prison farm collecting cabbages. Due to their few political crimes, they took control of the prison, breaking the rules and doing what they wanted. His days of control ended when a new warder arrived at the prison called Warder Hannetjie, an extremely strict and brutal guard whose actions are dehumanizing. One of his worst abuses was to beat up a man with glasses for a misdemeanor called Brille. Due to their mistreatment in prison, all prisoners lived in fear and felt deprived of their liberty by this new guard, until they decide to blackmail the guard blaming him with the authorities of stealing fertilizer to place it on his farm. Hannetjie tries to buy Brille's silence by offering tobacco for him and his group, however, Brille again accuses him with the authorities of offering them smuggled tobacco. Finally, Hannetjie and Brille reached an agreement that Hannetjie would stop being so mean to the other prisoners while the Span One group would help him steal supplements for his farm, where both Hannetjie and Span One begin to change for good between them themselves and with the other prisoners.
In the story, oppression is reflected in racial segregation and dehumanization. This story is set in South Africa after World War II, when racial segregation was inevitable in those days. Violence and discrimination are very common factors in prisons today, however, at the time in which this story is based, it was a nightmare for prisoners because they lived under heavy punishment and.

This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
