Turfgrass and K: Reviewing the RelationshipChuck Bowen
Potassium is heralded as a nutrient critical for turfgrass stress tolerance – heat, cold, traffic, and water stress are all associated with potassium fertility. In this webinar, experts will discuss the role of potassium in plant physiology and cover the basics on understanding soil and tissue test interpretation for plant available potassium. They will also review the relevant scientific research on potassium and explain why many managers may be using potassium incorrectly.
A quality landscape begins with a quality soil. Often soils are ignored in a landscape plan and it is not fully understood the importance of a healthy and productive soil to plant success and vitality. It all begins with the soil.
This was a presentation at Ball Seed Customer and Landscape Day 2014. Discussion of soil basics, landscape soil best management practices, soil test and the benefits of soil quality and soil health for a successful landscape plan.

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.
Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Climate Change All over the World .pptxsairaanwer024
Climate change refers to significant and lasting changes in the average weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It encompasses both global warming driven by human emissions of greenhouse gases and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns. While climate change is a natural phenomenon, human activities, particularly since the Industrial Revolution, have accelerated its pace and intensity

8. Wolf Trax Innovative Nutrients
Iron DDP featuring PlantActiv™ formulation
ensures better plant availability and better uptake
• Particle size is optimal for plant uptake
• Nutrients are formulated to resists soil tie-up, more
readily available to the plant
• Less iron is lost to the environment
10. Role and benefits of iron for grass
• Iron is commonly used as part of turf nutrition
packages for its benefits as a greening agent
• Granular prills are the
typical formulation
used for application
11. Challenges for effective fertilization
Poor distribution - uneven
fertilization
• Distribution of typical
granular applications can
cause unevenness in
appearance of turf and grass
• Mobility of micronutrients in
soil is limited, meaning some
roots get less nutrients than
others
12. Approaches to fertilizing for greener grass
1) Traditional approach - boosting nitrogen
• Increases growth
• Leads to more mowing
• Increases water usage, turf is more
susceptible to disease
2) New approach - using Iron DDP as a
fertilizer coating
• Provides green-up without increasing growth
• Requires less mowing
• Does not increase water usage
13. Solutions for turf
• Iron DDP offers more even distribution
Thoroughly and evenly coats onto granular fertilizer prills,
delivering the right amount of micronutrients at many points
of contact

14. Solutions for turf
• More even iron distribution with Iron DDP
means:
• Greater nutrient availability
• Improved above-ground grass color-up
• Improved below-ground root growth and disease prevention
15. Get quicker, longer-lasting green
• Dual Action Availability with Iron DDP
• Multiple forms of active iron guarantees earlier
uptake and continuous feeding over time
• Ensures that turf & grass is greener for longer, less
need to apply other fertilizers later in the season
16. Get quicker, longer-lasting green
Dual Action Availability
and 2010 Efficacy Trials
• Established stands of turfgrass
were fertilized with Wolf Trax
Iron DDP and granular iron
• Chlorophyll content was
measured using a SPAD meter
and shows that stands treated
with Wolf Trax Iron DDP were
“greener” than the granular iron

17. Get quicker, longer-lasting green
Dual Action Availability
and 2010 Efficacy Trials
• Turfgrass chlorophyll content
was measured at 4 different
intervals to determine
differences in “greenness”
• Wolf Trax Iron DDP coated onto
NPK fertilizer resulted in
greener sod compared to the
NPK fertilizer alone, especially
at the later dates
18. Make grass greener
• 2010 efficacy trials on turf showed greater plant
uptake of iron and greener grass
• SPAD readings were taken to determine the
difference in “green colour” quantitatively
20. Deliver Better Uptake
Wolf Trax Iron DDP was compared to granular iron
on grass:
• 50% iron oxide was applied at 1.5 lb/1000 ft2 physical
product
• Iron DDP applied at 0.4 lb/1000 ft2 physical product
• Grass was harvested three weeks after treatment, and
tissues analyzed for total iron content
• Iron DDP coated on lawn fertilizer showed iron uptake of
109% of check
21. Deliver Better Uptake
Despite being applied at a fraction of the rate, the highest concentration
of iron was found in the grass plants treated with Iron DDP
22. Iron and staining risks
Iron fertilization products tend to stain cement
• Wolf Trax compared the following to evaluate
staining:
(A) Iron DDP coated onto granular prills (1% coating)
(B) Granular fertilizer alone
(C) Granular fertilizer blended with iron sulphate
23. Iron and staining risks
• Blends were applied to a cement sidewalk, in
1m X 1m blocks adjacent to an urban lawn
• The iron treatment was left on the cement for
varying lengths of time and then washed off
with water
• Discolouration was rated on a 0 to 3 rating scale
where 0=no staining, 3=severe staining
