A longtime ago, veryfewpeople livedinthe New Territories.There were onlyafew villages.If the
people wantedtogofromone village toanother,theyoftenhadtopass throughwildandunsafe forest.
One day,a farmer’syoungwife wenttothe nextvillage tovisitherownmotherandbrother.She
broughtalongher babyson.Whenit was time forherto leave,herbrothersaid “it isgettingdark.Let
my son,AhTim go withyouthoughthe forest.”
So AhTim ledthe wayand the youngwomanfollowedbehind,carryingher baby.Whentheywere inthe
forest,suddenlytheysawagroup of wolves.Theybegantorun toavoidthe danger,butAhTim kicked
againsta stone and fell down.Atonce the wolvescaughthim.The youngwomancriedtothe wolves,
“ please eatmyownson instead.”Then,she putherbabysonon the groundin frontof the wolves
and tookher nephewaway.
