Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Editor's Notes
Nursing is an art:” (Creating New Realities for Nursing, 2009). Hi, welcome to my slideshow. I’ve compiled a group of pictures and quotes that represent my journey through the 2 years of nursing school. The quotes represent some of what the metaparadigms mean to me and my pictures represent each of my clinical rotations and a little of what I was feeling.
I will be narrating my journey for you. And although it was not an impossible mission, it was a long, hard journey! I hope you enjoy the ride! “Mission: Impossible (Main Theme)” (Schifrin [Knightsbridge], 2008, track 11).
I figured why not start the journey with a fun little game to see if you can name everything wrong with this picture according to the Christ College Dress Code.
Did you get all six? When I first came to the Christ College I was so afraid of clinical and the dress code that, I thought I was going to get sent home every week. I made sure everything I had on was white!!! And man did we ever stick out on the floors
My first semester I was terrified and had no idea what exactly nursing was all about. I thought a nurse went around passing medications and trying to figure out what was going on with the patient. But it became to mean so much more to me during the past 2 years. I still remember the first time walking into a patient’s room, I how I could barely speak and I had no idea what to say. As the weeks went on I became more comfortable and realized that as a nurse we help to ease the patients minds just by being there for them. Although being a nurse you still have the medications and charting and doctors and everyone else to deal with, it truly is about the patients and how I can make a difference in their lives through caring. (Nursing Schools, 2010, Quote 54)
I know when I first came to Nursing school my idea of health was the person who was skinny and never had any aches or pains, but I realize now that was just a superficial view of what health truly means. I now understand that it’s not just a physical thing, but also a mental, social and even spiritual type of being. No one individual may have perfect health, but for someone who has been suffering for years because of something as simple as knee pain, may have a day where they can walk without that knee pain and for them it may be a good healthy day. Health is individual and unique to each person (Awofeso, 2012, para. 3)
The First semester, my second year I had my psych rotation first. I was a little nervous, but curious as well. I’ve had some experiences with friends who didn’t have the greatest home life and some with addiction issues, but I had never really encountered anyone who wanted to commit suicide. I wondered sometimes why people can’t just “get over it” so to speak, but after talking with my patient I realized that we are like clay that never gets sent to the oven, we continually are molded based on our surroundings and the people we encounter, and as a nurse we can create an environment in which our patients can trust us to speak about their needs. And by being accepting of each individual and creating a safe environment we can communicate more effectively. “To effectively communicate,” (Nursing Schools, 2010, Quote 87) “Do not think,” (Good Reads, 2012, p. 1) “How to Save a Life” (The Fray [Twilight Trio], 2010, track 10)
I have always known that each person is unique and an individual, but I have learned this more than ever during nursing school. Being a nurse I have met so many different types of individuals within the past two years than I have in a long time. During my last semester I went to Children’s hospital. I was nervous about working with children who are sick because I felt like they should be running around playing. The compassion I felt with my one patient who kept having seizures five minutes apart and was completely coherent was incredibly brave in my eyes. And I realized that people can be strong at any age and just want to be treated with kindness and respect and she just wanted to talk and do what normal kids do. (Photograph of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, 2010) (MotivatingQuotes.com, N.D. para. 38)
When I think of some of the other situations I encountered I can honestly say that having a strong support system around can help an individual to be strong throughout a situation. No matter what type of person someone is, they deserve to be treated like a person because we are all still learning, growing and becoming, just like the Christ College’s mantra (Good Reads, 2012, p. 1)
With Role transition I was able to utilize everything that I had learned over the past two years. My views on the world changed a little bit with every thing I learned and that I have chosen a profession that I believe is one of the most rewarding jobs! I can’t wait until I start my career and continue my journey! “Student Nurse Diagnosis,” (Café Press, 2007) “Health is a large word.” (Quote Garden, 1998-2012, para. 62) “Compassion is a call,” (Nursing Schools, 2010, Quote 61)
“Time of Our Lives” (Wells, 2010, track 8). “Nightingale Pledge.” (Creating New Realities for Nursing, 2009).
