NXP implemented ThousandEyes to gain visibility into network and application performance issues affecting users. ThousandEyes identified issues such as a 99% packet loss in NXP's Hamburg LAN, routing loops causing an application to be unreachable, and faults affecting a web application. It also found issues with Microsoft Skype, including 30% packet loss due to an ISP and latency over 100ms when Skype routed calls through a Canadian instance instead of closer ones. ThousandEyes helped NXP troubleshoot problems and provided an end-to-end view of the user experience.

Wind Telecom is a telecommunications company in the Dominican Republic that was founded in 2008. It has around 300 direct employees and over 10,000 customers. The company's infrastructure includes about 12 physical Linux servers, 10 physical Windows servers, and 15 virtualized servers. It offers services like telephony, internet, and wireless television.
Wind Telecom considered several monitoring tools like Icinga, FAN, Centreon, Shinken, and OpenNMS but ultimately chose Nagios XI due to its flexibility, easy management, licensing options, documentation, local support, and price. NEC, a global IT company, implemented a smart city project in the MENA region that required processing large amounts of live data in real time. As the database was critical to the project, NEC partnered with Profelis, an EDB Postgres expert, to help with the challenging database architecture. Profelis used tools like streaming replication, logical replication, EDB Failover Manager, pgBarman, and EDB Postgres Enterprise Manager to achieve high availability, disaster recovery, minimal downtime, and zero data loss across data centers for the critical project database.

Today we gave a talk at Future Internet Assembly 2014. Its aim was to show how OpenNebula is driving innovation in cloud computing, impacting the adoption of private cloud, and enabling business in the cloud.
First, most organizations adopt cloud to optimize their IT investment, to improve existing services or to support new business and service models. In this scenario, OpenNebula lowers the barriers for new organizations to build their private cloud.
Second, many organizations like the fact that open source allows great customization to meet individual requirements. They can build a differentiated cloud service to meet customers needs or to offer new cloud provision models for a specific market segment or geography.
Third, open-source also encourages and supports innovation in the development of new cloud products. We have seen many examples of how its use lowers the barriers for new ICT players to create their own cloud offerings.

NEC, a global IT company, implemented a smart city project in the MENA region that required processing large amounts of live data in real time. As the database was critical to the project, NEC partnered with Profelis, an EDB Postgres expert, to help with the challenging database architecture. Profelis used tools like streaming replication, logical replication, EDB Failover Manager, pgBarman, and EDB Postgres Enterprise Manager to achieve high availability, disaster recovery, minimal downtime, and zero data loss across data centers for the critical project database.

Today we gave a talk at Future Internet Assembly 2014. Its aim was to show how OpenNebula is driving innovation in cloud computing, impacting the adoption of private cloud, and enabling business in the cloud.
First, most organizations adopt cloud to optimize their IT investment, to improve existing services or to support new business and service models. In this scenario, OpenNebula lowers the barriers for new organizations to build their private cloud.
Second, many organizations like the fact that open source allows great customization to meet individual requirements. They can build a differentiated cloud service to meet customers needs or to offer new cloud provision models for a specific market segment or geography.
Third, open-source also encourages and supports innovation in the development of new cloud products. We have seen many examples of how its use lowers the barriers for new ICT players to create their own cloud offerings.
