                                                    LATE LETTERS TO THE BOARD
Annually approximately 200 enlisted candidates' "Letters to the Board" are received after the published "received by" date. Letters to the board
received by NPC's Customer Service Center after 4 June for the Active CPO board and 9 July for the FTS/SELRES CPO board, by policy, are not
presented to the selection board. Do not let this happen to your letter to the board. NPC cannot make exceptions for letters to the board received
late. NAVADMIN 349/11, NAVADMIN 369/11, and NAVADMIN 108/12 provide the most up to date information regarding candidates'
communication with the board as well as Chapter 12 of the Advancement Manual. I strongly recommend you review these references available on
NPC's website under the boards tab on the homepage!!

LAST MINUTE INVOLUNTARY SEPARATION PAY REQUESTS RESULT IN BCNR ACTION
Many Sailors separated due to PTS denial, ERB and certain administrative separations are eligible for Involuntary Separation Pay (ISP). For these
Sailors to receive ISP they must incur a 3-year obligation with the Ready Reserve either in the Individual Ready Reserve or as a Drilling Reservist.
Once verified by PSD, a fax or e-mailed copy of the DD-214 worksheet, INCUR Page 13 (MILPERSMAN 1910-050) and a copy of one of the
applicable documents (ERB Page-13, PTS Denial or ADSEP letter, and special request chit for ERB Early out) must be received by PERS-93 at
least 30 days prior to the affected Sailors TDY or terminal leave date. Although PERS-93 works diligently to ensure all Sailors are processed for
ISP before their separation date, the failure of commands to meet the 30 day processing window may result in processing delays. In some instances,
Sailors failed to reenlist in the IRR before their end of obligated service which required BCNR action in order to complete the ISP process.
Personnel Support Detachments, Career Counselors and the chain of command should read and understand the ISP process contained at

CSADD RALLIES - SAILORS NAVIGATE TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS
The Navy will hold two rallies - one in May and one in June to promote sound decision-making and leadership development among junior Sailors,
according to NAVADMIN 124/12, released April 17. The Coalition of Sailors against Destructive Decision (CSADD) rallies will take place at
Naval Station Norfolk, Va., May 22-23 and at Naval Base Coronado, Calif., June 12-13. CSAAD is a peer mentoring program for active and
reserve Sailors, Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) candidates, and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets aimed at
promoting good decision-making and leadership development at the most junior levels. The theme for the rallies is "Navigating Success" and
participation is open to all CSADD regions, chapters and local area command leadership. The rallies are designed to provoke thought and inspire
young leaders to discuss a variety of issues affecting the fleet, such as sexual assault awareness, bystander intervention, responsible alcohol use,
off-duty safety and Sailor family readiness. CSADD encourages positive behavior by bringing together Sailors through both online social
networking to foster peer interaction and in-person networking. For more information about CSADD, visit their website and the CSADD Facebook
 page at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Coalition-of-Sailors-Against-Destructive-Decisions-CSADD/299642495316
