2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

First, what we see, when arrived at Oslo was Oslo Town Hall.
It's very beautiful inside. There are many pictures, that tell the history of Oslo.
When we go from TH to the museum island, I noticed that there are many yachts in the habour.
Then our bus stopped on the waterfront, so we could take a picture of the Oslo Opera House.
Fram museum, that locates on museum island, is triangular in shape.
Fram is the big ship colored in three colors: white, black and red. Some famous people go to the both poles of the earth 2 centuries ago.
There are many berths in the ship, because each sailor had to relax. They played music instruments, listened to music and slept, as the travels were very long.
Also the deck is very beautiful with the helm on it.
When we went out from the museum and went to the waterfront, we saw the lodge made of rubbish found on the beach. It was very unusual.
I also noticed that the water was very clean there.
Then we left the museum island and went to the hotel on the top of the mountain. It was very beautiful.
As it turned out, inside this hotel was very homely.
Next morning we go to the Flom, to ride on the boat by the Sognefjord. But before we climb up the hill to get an amazing view of the habour. Also the Norwegians believe in trolls, that live in mountains. If they annoy the weather worsens.
Apparently we make angry one of the trolls, because the rain began to fall. But even this fact does not spoil our impressions of the fjords.
Also there were many seagulls. I liked to feed them.
There are many waterfalls fallen from the mountains.
After fjords we went to the Stalheym gorge. This fabulous view I will never forgot.
Then we went to the Stalheym waterfall. It was very magnificent.
Water flowing from this waterfall is so clean, that blue colored.
