UGC has implemented new admission rules where applicants for undergraduate and postgraduate programs will no longer need to submit original documents for verification. Previously, candidates had to submit original records to the university which were returned after one month. This change will help students who need to withdraw from a program for any reason. The UGC also made other changes to admission rules regarding fees refunds and student issues. Universities can no longer force applicants to purchase admission forms and must provide a full refund within 15 days if a candidate wants to withdraw. Tuition fees must also be collected at the start of each semester. These policy changes aim to stop coercive practices by educational institutions regarding refunds and returning documents if a student withdraws
