Conferment of Awards and re-enrolment or re-registration
Regardless of the results published, no award will be conferred on any person who has outstanding obligations to the University or who is the subject of a breach of discipline. The University reserves the right to refuse
re-enrolment or registration to any person who has outstanding obligations to the University.
Referral or failure in a module
If you have been referred in or failed a module, this may have a serious effect on whether or not you can continue on your present award route. You may wish to consider transferring to a different award. If you have
failed a pre-requisite module in which you were already referred, this normally means that you will no longer be able to complete the award on which you are registered within the period initially anticipated. Both these
possibilities may have financial consequences.
• Timetables for re-assessment under controlled conditions, details of referred coursework and any other assessments will be made available to you as appropriate. If you have not received details of how to
access this information within 14 days of the date of publication of these results, contact your faculty Student Administration Team immediately.
• Transfer to a different award must be approved before the first date of the first week of teaching in the next academic year for the award route on which you were originally registered. Consult your faculty
Student Administration Team if you wish to transfer to a different award route or claim an intermediate or alternative award.
Assessment Marks
Marks shown above are rounded to the nearest whole number. The student record system used unrounded marks to calculate your overall average so there may be a small difference between the outcome of any
calculation you may make, using the marks above, and that of the student record system.
Capping rule at undergraduate level:For the purpose of calculating honours classification or eligibility for an award with merit or distinction, where referral/reassessment is required, marks will be capped at 40% in
accordance with Academic Regulation F10.1.10R and F10.1.11R. Any capped mark will be displayed in brackets, while the actual mark achieved will be displayed without brackets. If the module is passed, the actual
mark achieved will also be recorded on your Certificate of Credit (F10.1.15R)
Capping rule at postgraduate level:For the purpose of determining a postgraduate award with merit or distinction, or classification of an honours degree if applicable, where referral/reassessment is required for
a module at postgraduate level (Level M), the overall module mark will be capped at 50% in accordance with Academic Regulation F10.4.1.2R. Any capped mark will be displayed in brackets, while the actual mark
achieved will be displayed without brackets. If the module is passed, the actual mark achieved will also be recorded on your Certificate of Credit (F10.1.1.4R)
No marks can be carried forward between attempts
