This document describes a new portable imaging device that combines three imaging technologies - clinical imaging, digital dermatoscopy, and optical coherence tomography - to provide physicians with a complete non-invasive examination of the skin surface up to 2mm deep. Martin Dudziak has conducted research using motion detection and haptics for medical applications including surgery and physical rehabilitation. This work has involved interactive systems using motion input from both patients and users. Recent projects have focused on training for nurses and technicians to use emerging technologies like Microsoft Kinect for healthcare applications. Currently, Martin is adapting earlier Kinect experiments to remotely control 3D instruments using motion for applications like physical therapy training.
Virtual Research Environment for Cancer Imaging
The VRE-CI project aims to provide a framework for researchers and clinicians involved in cancer imaging to share information, images, and algorithms. Funded by JISC, the 22-month project will develop a module for sharing DICOM images and processing algorithms through web services and workflows. It will load images while maintaining security and confidentiality, and allow users to track datasets and results.

the Internet is a popular communication channel for messages and images transmission which need protection and authentication in different scenarios.
Two ways main ways to achieve such protection

Steganography: concealing a message inside another

The data hiding-based steganography is used by application where parties need to exchange messages through images while preserving visual fidelity of the image.
A well-known steganography methods are

Optimizing Monitorability of Multi-cloud Applications
This document proposes an approach to optimize the monitorability of applications deployed across multiple cloud providers. It aims to maximize the number of application metrics that can be monitored while minimizing costs, based on each cloud provider's monitoring capabilities. A matchmaking algorithm finds the best deployment by considering users' monitoring requirements, providers' offered metrics and costs, and estimating metrics that are not directly measurable. The approach was validated on a sample deployment and showed response times around 19 seconds for optimizing monitoring of 4 VMs with 7 metrics each across 7 cloud providers.

ECG analysis in the cloud allows for remote monitoring of patients' heartbeats without visiting the hospital. Sensors attached to patients measure their ECG and transmit the data via Bluetooth to mobile devices and the cloud for analysis. This analysis is done as a cloud service across infrastructure, platform, and software layers. The cloud provides elastic resources and near real-time analysis, allowing doctors to monitor more patients without large local computing infrastructures.

They conducted a mixed methods study of their psychosocial support activities, assessing 50 households using tools to evaluate efforts to restore normalcy. Also lack of image processing and analysis tools for handling the large image datasets has compromised researchers and practitioner‟s outcome. Migrating medical imaging applications and data to the Cloud can allow healthcare organizations to realize significant cost savings relating to hardware, software, buildings, power and staff, in addition to greater scalability, higher performance and resilience. This paper reviews medical image processing and its challenges, states cloud computing and cloud computing benefits due to medical image processing. Also, this paper introduces tools and methods for medical images processing using the cloud. Finally a method is provided for medical images processing based on Eucalyptus cloud infrastructure with image processing software “ImageJ” and using improved genetic algorithm for the allocation and distribution of resources. Based on conducted simulations and experimental results, the proposed method brings high scalability, simplicity, flexibility and fully customizability in addition to 40% cost reduction and twice increase in speed.
