The first recorded example of organized events are the Ancient Olympic Games

The modern sport developed in the 19th century as industrialization increased leisure time. By the 2008 Olympics, there were 47 total track and field events across running, jumping, throwing and combined events.

The ancient Olympics were held only in Olympia and were open only to free Greek men. While fewer events were held compared to modern Olympics, winning athletes achieved celebrity status and glory for their home cities. One event, the pentathlon, combined five disciplines: discus, javelin, long jump, running, and wrestling. Pankration was a combination of boxing and wrestling with few restrictions on holds and attacks. The marathon running event commemorated the run of the Greek soldier who announced victory at Marathon.

Archery dates back 10,000 years and was used for hunting and warfare before becoming a competitive sport in medieval England. Athletics requires athletes to run faster, jump higher, and throw further to embody the Olympic motto of "Faster, Higher, Stronger." Badminton players will need lightning-fast reactions to keep up with shuttlecocks traveling over 400 km/h at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 2. THE HISTORY OF TRACK AND FIELD IN INTERNATIONAL LEVEL :-
- 3. WHAT IS TRACK AND FIELD ? Track and field is a sport which include athletics contests established on the skills of running, jumping, and throwing.
- 4. THE FIRST EVER TRACK RACE :- The ancient olympic games began in 776bc when koroibos a cook from a near by city of eills won the stadium race ,a foot race 600feet long . ( 600 feet is about 183 meters , nowadays tracks are 400 meters long. .
- 5. THE MARATHON :- The marathon was not introduced untill the modern olympic games of 1896 in athens and was normally 26 miles long. (That is about41843 meters long which is about the same as ours marathons today are 26.2 miles long .)
- 6. TRACK AND FIELD IN THE U.S. :- Track and field athletics in the u.S. Dates back to the 1860’s . The interrcollegiate associantion of amateur athletics of america , the nations first national athletics groups, held the first collegiate races in 1873 .
- 7. TRACK AND FIELD TODAY:- Track and field today consist of various sports and competitors from 60m run , 100m run , 200m run , 400m run, 800m run , 1500m run , 3000m run , various relays , marathons , shot put , discuss , hammer throw , javelin throw , pole vault , and various sand pit jumping event . There are annual track and field contests held in either america or other countries and is a major part of the olympics .

- 9. VEDIC AGE :- The history of indian athletics was moulded into shape by the principles of the atharva veda. During the vedic period, sports like chariot racing, equestrian, archery, military tactics, wrestling, weight lifting, swimming and hunting were in vogue. In due time, the nature and character of sports in india started to change leaving space for the up-gradation of sports and athletics in india. NATIONAL HISTORY OF TRACK AND FIELD :-
- 10. MODERN AGE :- While track and field has a long and storied history, it did not gain great popularity and take off until the 1860s. In 1866, england held its first championships for men amateurs. No financial compensation was provided to the winners, setting precedent for the modern-day olympics and basis for the sport.
