The workshop covered healthy and sustainable purchasing practices. It discussed how chemicals in products can impact health, and how procurement professionals can help identify and purchase safer alternatives. Examples were provided of initiatives to purchase third-party certified cleaning products, electronics that meet EPEAT standards, and researching safer paint removal methods. Attendees participated in activities discussing resilient flooring procurement and task chair purchases to integrate healthy purchasing principles. The presentation aimed to equip professionals with resources and examples to advance sustainable and healthy purchasing goals.

Review on Green Supply Chain Management as a Strategic Approach for Better Co...YogeshIJTSRD
Development based on sustainability is the key to ensure a firm’s endurance and green supply chain management practices improves performance by considering environmental laws and standards, increasing customer awareness, and reducing adverse environmental effects through products and services. Strategies aligned with the green supply chain helps firms with creation of opportunities for better performance and meet the requirements of sustainability. This review paper aims to gain insights based on management of the green supply chain and its strategic effect on corporate performance through competitiveness. Based on the review, it is confirmed that a greener supply network has various benefits related to it and implementing green supply chain practices in sync with strategic planning can enhance corporate performance of firms in varied aspects. However, it also highlighted a research gap as there are limited studies showcasing the measured effect of greener supply network strategies and initiatives on corporate performance of a firm. Lastly, the paper contributes with avenues for further research with the possibilities of strategic approaches for a greener value chain to elucidate its impact quantitatively. Sanath. The modern world is paving its path on a double-edged sword of development and environment sustainability. The environmentalist are raising hue and cry over the climatic changes caused by industrialization and urbanization and it has forced the companies to come out with environmentally friendly products. Global companies are shunning the traditional business models and incorporating green practices to win over the conscious customers. This paper attempts to explore the opinion of the customers regarding the green products available in the market and the factors which determine their purchasing habit.

GOAL:
7. Why?
Why are focusing on chemicals, health, and risk?
How does this fit with our mission?
What are the benefits of safer products?
10. Chemicals and Our Health
• Some chemicals are toxic.
• Toxic chemicals are present in products we
use.
• We are exposed to toxic chemicals:
• through products.
• through environmental pollution, which
can happen during any phase of a product
lifecycle.
16. • Risk management and mitigation
• Better overall value
• Employee productivity and retention
• Public health protection
• Long term cost savings

• Evaluate alternative lead paint removal and surface preparation techniques
• Investigate two lead stabilizers and sequestration materials to reducethe
amount of hazardouswaster generated during removal
• Compare alternative surface preparation methods versustraditional practices
based on sustainability values
• Discuss alternative surface preparation methods in respect to worker safety,
environmentalprotection,waster generation, recyclability, productsourcing,
and ease of use for the repainting
• Research and compare other paint systems approved by other agencies
