2. We arrived in Managua, Nicaragua and stayed the first
night at the best western right across from the airport.
The next morning we headed to the Hacienda where we
would stay from sat-thur. The “Hacienda San Pedro” was
located in San Marcos about 45 min from Managua.

4. Everyday we left the Hacienda and headed to the Church of Christ in
Masatepe. It has about 50 members, and is located about 15 min from
San Marcos where the Hacienda was located. We rode back to the
hacienda everyday for lunch and then headed back to the church after
lunch until dinnertime.
Things to know about Masatepe:
- Population- 21,452
- Located about an hour from the pacific coast
- Catholicism is the “state religion”
- Family’s are extremely close knit
- Most people would be considered to us very poor but,
Masatepe is actually much better off then many places
in Nicaragua and Central America.

6. During the day we held a VBS at the church for the children. We
were also given groups. Each group contained an adult man, a
translator, a local person from the Church in Masatepe, and a
women. Only the women did VBS. If I wanted to help with VBS
all I had to do was get someone to take my place in my group.
We held a devo in the morning, given by one of the teenage boys
from either East Main COC in Tupelo, Mississippi, or East Main
COC in Murfreesboro Tn. There were a few people from other
congregations in FL, Ohio, and Georgia.
After lunch we came back and held another VBS at the church.
Meanwhile our groups would go out to the streets and invite
people to the gospel meetings and night and the VBS for children.
Then we would ask them if they had time to study the bible. We
came back at night for a Spanish service, a teen class, and
another VBS. Then we retreated to the Hacienda San Pedro for
supper and a sweaty nights sleep.

15. Thursday was our last day at the church, and Friday was
our “Tourist Day” we visited Volcano Maya and we drove
to the pacific ocean to have our banquet. It was
beautiful. We shared stories and said goodbye to our
beloved translators. We wouldn't’t have been able to
accomplish anything if it wasn't for our translators (from
all over Latin America).

18. This trip was only possible for through an organization know as Latin American
Missions aka L.A.M. Our campaign takes place every year and is known as Yes
II. I am so thankful to our leader Spencer Broome for making this possible. This
country and this church and these people have left a special place in my heart. I
hope more than anything that I will be able to continue my work there, but more
importantly I know that all the Glory goes to God. Throughout the whole trip I
saw God work through me and the group with Yes II and, continue to work
through the people at the local congregation and through the streets in
Masatepe. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.
