IT Assessment Process
 The point of the assessment is to
clearly understand the business
problem, the impact, desired
outcomes and timelines. All of this
input is weighed against a high level
solution and estimate from IT. Be wary
of overlooking impacted systems and
functional areas and avoid getting too
detailed in your requirements
gathering.
Step 1 - Initial Review
• Review the remedy details
• Review the comments in the enhancement
tracking spreadsheet
• Understand which user group the request is
for
• Understand which system flow the request
is for
• Which functional areas are impacted?
• What systems are being used?
• What info can you find on the wiki for the
functional area/systems.
Step 2 - Gather Requirements from Business
• Meet with requestor and functional lead for
the user group
• Go through demo of the problem
• Ask them to show you examples
• Ask questions to get full details of the issue
• Etc…
