Suzanne Collins is an American author born in 1962. She had a varied career writing for television before starting to write novels inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Her most famous work is The Hunger Games trilogy about a dystopian future where children compete in an annual fight to the death that is televised. The first book follows Katniss Everdeen as she volunteers for the Hunger Games to save her sister, joining fellow tribute Peeta as they fight for survival in the competition.
