[object Object],Up to four Loop Control Modules and four Loop Control Expanders (8 SLC loops) can be mounted in the highly versatile CHS-4 Chassis. The CHS-4 consumes one row in a CAB-4 Series enclosure.
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
[object Object],AC Power The AMPS-24 requires connection to a dedicated 120 VAC branch circuit labeled “Fire Alarm”. In addition to the NEUTRAL and HOT connections, the supply must be connected to a solid earth ground. This is essential to mantaining the power supply´s immunity to unwanted transients generated by lighting, electrostatic discharge and other energy surges.
[object Object],SLC Interface The built-in monitor points of the AMPS-24 require connection to the CPU´s Signaling Line Circuit on TB1.
[object Object],Panel Output TB2 provides filtered, non power-limited 24 VDC power to the CPU-3030 using a six-wire harness (P/N 75637 supplied with the CPU).
[object Object],Accesories Output This output is used to power 5VDC and 24 VDC (nominal) fire alarm accesories directly from the AMPS-24. Maximum draw from this output is 1 amp. This output is non-power-limited, supervised and regulated.
[object Object],Battery Connections Secondary Power (batteries) Charging Circuit – TB4, TB5 – current – limited, sealed lead-acid battery charger which will charge 26 to 200 AH batteries. Selectable charging current: 2.0 amps or 5.0 amps. Charging voltage: 24 VDC (nominal).
[object Object],Battery Fuse (F2) 3 Amp, 10 AG The battery fuse prevents the main power supply to be damaged when an exceding current occurs.
[object Object],Configuration Settings The AMPS-24 is configured for desired operation through the settings on DIP switch SW1. The settings depend on what AMPS-24 is being used to power (NFS2-3030, NCA-2, annunciators, etc.)
[object Object],Base Address The Base Address is the first address used in an SLC address block. The address is a combination on the setting on the rotary switch and the Address Offset slide switch (SW3).
[object Object],Address Offset SW3 is a slider switch that is set based on whether the AMPS-24 SLC Base Address is to end in a zero (0) or a five (5).
[object Object],Ground Fault Jumper JP2 is a jumper that can be cut to disable Ground Fault Detection on this power supply.
[object Object],Charger Selection Switch The AMPS-24 is capable of charging 26-200 amp-hour batteries. The Charger Selection Switch (SW4) selects the appropriate battery charger output to match one of two amp-hour ranges.
[object Object],AC Power LED Illuminates when sufficient AC power is present. This Led blinks slowly until AC Delay expires (if set). Ground Fault LED Illuminates when a ground fault is detected on any output or battery lead.
[object Object],Battery Charger LED Illuminates when a trouble condition exists with the battery charger. Power Outputs LEDs ACCESORIES (LED8): Illuminates when the 24 VDC Accessories Output (TB6) is active. This LED is off when the output has been overloaded or when the total power drawn from both TB6 and TB2 exceeds 5 amps.
[object Object],SLC Comm LEDs RXA (LED5): Blinks when data is being received from the Signaling Line Circuit. TXA (LED7): Blinks when data is being transmitted to the Signaling Line Circuit. FAIL (LED6): Illuminates if the microcontroller fails.
[object Object],General Trouble LED This LED will illuminate or blink, pause and repeat; as specified below, when the following troubles occur: Brownout Trouble (after AC delay expires) – 1 blink Internal Power Failure -------------------------------2 blinks Incorrect SLC Address Selection ----------------3 blinks Battery Charger Shutdown -------------------------5 blinks Accesories Output Overload ---------------------- 6 blinks
[object Object],The user interface contains a display, buttons and LEDs, which displays, control and indicate status of the system respectively.
[object Object],FIRE ALARM LED This LED flashes when a non-acknowledge fire alarm(s) exists. It illuminates steadily after the first alarm has been acknowledged. OTHER EVENT LED This LED flashes for any non-acknowledged categories (Critical Processor Monitor, Telephone Ring – In, etc.). It illuminates steadily after the first event has been acknowledged.
[object Object],PRE-ALARM LED This LED flashes when a non-acknowledged Pre-Alarm exists. It illuminates steadily after the first Pre-Alarm has been acknowledged. SIGNALS SILENCED This LED lights steadily after a fire alarm condition occurs and the SIGNAL SILENCE key has been pressed, silencing all outputs. This LED flashes to indicate that at least one non-silenceable output is still active.
[object Object],Nine keys in the upper right-hand portion of the keypad provide keys functions.
[object Object],Acknowledge Key This key is used to respond to new alarm or trouble signals. When pressed, the control panel performs the following actions: Silences the panel sounder Changes all active LED indicator from flash to steadily Sends an acknowledge message to the History buffer.
